There was this cute little restaurant called 'Jenny's' that Aunt Lily and I decided to eat at. She told me all about her life ever since the moment I left. It sounded like she was doing good. That made me happy, knowing that she was doing well.
She asked me how school had been and I told her what she needed to know, that it was going okay and that I have been sick for the last few days so I have missed school. I knew I would have to tell her about everything eventually but I would rather her find out about it all when we were in a more closed-off environment. I just know she'll freak. Especially when I tell her about the call I got from Anthony.
I was still wondering what to do about that entire situation. A part of me wanted to leave and never return but another part of me knew that it was pointless to run, especially with everything going on here. I still needed some answers.
"So, you want dessert?" Aunt Lily asked, pulling me out of deep thought.
I turned to her, "Sure, there's this really cute Gelato shop I saw right down the street."
One of the perks of being in a small town was that everything was close by. I wish I visited the town earlier but my time has been occupied by other things. I'm glad I get to experience it firsthand with Aunt Lily though, we always loved exploring new places.
The minute we walked into the Gelato shop I noticed a guy who looked strangely familiar. I knew it wasn't him since Luca's hair was a lot messier and ended at his jaw while this guy's hair was short and styled.
He also rocked a bit of stubble from what I could tell. Other than that he looked exactly like him.
"Can I help you?" He cleared his throat causing me to avert my gaze.
"I'm sorry, you just look really familiar," I took in a breath, "Do you have a brother by any chance?"
He nodded, "I have two."
"Luca Carter, is he one of them?"
The guy immediately gave me a knowing look. It was like he understood why I was gawking at him earlier, he must get it a lot.
"Yeah, he's my brother," He said wiping down a table and gesturing for Aunt Lily and me to sit down, "I assume you go to Montre?"
I looked over at him with furrowed brows, "Yeah, how did you know?"
"Cause you don't live in town and since my brother goes there that's the only other place I can think of that you might know him from," He explained as he walked over to the register and walked back, handing each of us a menu, "I'm Cole."
I smiled but before I could say anything Lily beat me to it, "Nice to meet you, Cole, I'm Lily and this is Bellamy."
He smiled, "Nice to meet you both, I'll give you two a few minutes to pick out what you want then I'll be back to get your order."
Once he left Aunt Lily turned to face me with a raised brow, "Who is Luca Carter?"
I shrugged, "A friend."
"Mhm, sure he is." She didn't sound like she believed me, and I couldn't blame her. It was like she knew when I was lying.
I've always thought myself a really good liar but not when it comes to her, it was like she was my very own lie detector. Even when I tried my hardest she knew when to separate a lie from the truth. That's why I had no choice but to tell her what's been going on.
When I told her about school she gave me a very nonchalant look meaning she must know something is going on.
After deciding what we wanted to eat - she got Waffles with chocolate gelato on the side while I got a strawberry milkshake and a cup of lemon-flavored gelato - We didn't talk much this time, instead, I took a ton of pictures of the two of us then we sat quietly watching an episode of Gilmore Girls on my phone.
