My phone was buzzing out of control, I assumed that it was probably due to the message I sent to Luca. After taking a peak at my phone I noticed that a bunch of people was trying to get ahold of me. It wasn't just Luca anymore.
Once they see that I'm okay their minds will surely be put to rest I thought as I pushed open the doors to the library and made my way toward where they were the last time we were all here together.
I stopped in my tracks when I found my Aunt, Luca, Christian, and Katherine pacing the room while Mrs. Fabrey and Daphne sat at the table frantically typing away at their phones. When they caught sight of me they all stopped and looked at me with the same worried look. Seeing my Aunt look so distraught made me feel exceptionally guilty but I needed them all here asap and I had a feeling that if I told them why I wanted to see them not all of them would have come.
"Did you know about this?" I pulled the folded paper out of my back pocket and put it on the table in front of Mrs. Fabrey. I had a feeling that they must have known but I didn't want to jump the gun without proper clarification.
She clenched her jaw and hesitantly opened the folded paper, a heavy sigh left her lips after she saw what was on it, "Where did you find this?"
I scoffed, "So you did know about it?"
Mrs. Fabrey cleared her throat, "It's more complicated than that?"
"What's complicated?" Luca chimed in while Christian went to Mrs. Fabrey's side and craned his neck to see what was written on the paper.
From the look on his face, he seemed to be slightly annoyed about what was written down. Maybe not everyone knew about all of this.
Christian bit his bottom lip, "Hear her out." he cocked his head toward Mrs. Fabrey, "It is a lot more complicated than you think."
I shook my head, "There's nothing complicated about telling the truth."
Luca grabbed the paper off the table and stood next to Katherine while the both of them began analyzing what was written down. It didn't take them long to come to Mrs. Fabrey's defense. They must have all known. My gaze shifted from the group of people to my Aunt who stood behind me with a disapproving look on her face.
Aunt Lily cleared her throat, "What was up with that text?"
I completely forgot about that text the minute I took that paper out of my back pocket.
"I'm sorry." I sighed.
She kissed her teeth. Right now was the worst time to be discussing this but I wasn't going to tell her that, not with the way she was looking at me. Aunt Lily was only human, she didn't have any supernatural abilities but I tell ya her disapproving mom's look felt otherworldly.
"What would possess you to send something like that Bellamy? You scared me half to death." She hissed, "And with everything going on right now?" Aunt Lily massaged her temples as she went to take a seat by the table.
I shrugged, "I get that you were scared but I needed you all to be here."
Aunt Lily raised a brow, "For what?"
After Daphne finished reading what was on the paper she slid it over to my Aunt on the other side of the table. Aunt Lily didn't hesitate to read it and when she was done she folded it back up and handed it to me.
"Hear them out, I'll be waiting for you in your room." That was all she said before she left the room. My Aunt had always taken my safety extremely seriously, I just didn't realize how annoyed she would be after sending that text.
