Grian was a smart man. He wasn't easily fooled, and didn't believe in things like spirits and zodiacs and the undead. All of it was nonsense. That's exactly what the soul bound was to him. Nonsense.
Why should he believe that some random person whom he didn't know was his perfect match? Was he really supposed to believe that in this massive world there was one person specifically for him? No, it was complete bologna. He refused to even entertain the thought.
He went on with his life, not mooning over some random person he'd never meet. Was the feathered male actually supposed to wonder over a person he had an impossible chance of meeting, with no clues as to find them except a little mark?
He glared at his soulmark now, annoyed. Grian wouldn't let it bother him any longer. He got to work as he began to sort out his blueprints, debating what he should build next. The blonde was a magnificent builder. His business, the Entities Building Co., was very popular all over the nation of Ibon. People from all sides of the jungle would send orders to Grian, from simple farmers wanting barns to government officials asking for schools. He was also known for his charming personality and giant rainbow colored wings, even if he could be a tad mischievous. There was no one in the jungle nation who didn't love Grian.
Setting down his blueprints, the blonde huffed, too distracted to get any work done. He instead decided to take a walk through the town to calm his nerves.
As he left his massive, intricately carved treehouse, the male glanced up at the bright morning sky, shielding his eyes from the sun. It was such a beautiful day, and he wasn't going to let his racing mind ruin it for him. He trod toward the town, humming a mindless tune, just enjoying the last few days of summer. He would miss the pleasantly warm days and breezy, cool nights.
When the little town of Pluma came to into view, Grian stopped. The small wooden board titled "The Town News" had a small scrap of paper on it. This wasn't unusual, for the locals would post updates and requests on the board all of the time, but this was different. He picked up the paper, it read:

'Come one! Come all! Traveling Magic Show in Town! See tricks, stunts, and cute cats! Come by anytime!'

Now, at the mention of cats, Grian became interested. The parrot man decided he would go, as he didn't have anything better on the agenda anyway. He could see what this 'Magic Show' was all about.
The next showing was due in about 15 minutes, so the blonde walked through town, enjoying a snack from a little cafe before heading over to the Town Square.
The square had been modified for the show, with a big stage in the middle and pretty floating candles glittering in the air. Some tables were placed here and there, along with a few benches. There was even a little refreshment table near the back, the blonde noted with a nod.
The builder sat near the back of the square, quietly sipping his tea as he waited for the show to begin. The place was filling up fast, it looked as if almost everyone in town had come. He found himself getting excited. What wonders would this show introduce him to?
His thoughts ceased as the curtains opened up to reveal a tall, green-eyed elf. Grian looked on curiously. Not many elves came to Ibon, due to the dueling ideals each land displayed. It was quite a rare occurrence.
The show started with a few tricks, a cat jumping through hoops and blasts of light and such. It was a pleasant little surprise, and the audience seemed to be charmed by this display as they watched.
After about a half hour, the showman announced that it was time for the finale. He asked for a volunteer, locking eyes with Grian for a moment before motioning him forward. The smaller male laughed and found his way upstage, facing the man.
He started to feel a bit strange, but dismissed it as stage fright as the man described his trick. Finally, he faced the Avian.
"Alrighty, are you ready?" The show person boomed, to which Grian replied with a smile and a nod. The person did some sort of spell and Grian started levitating upside down, eyes widening in surprise before he burst into giggles. The show ended with a pleasant firework show, and a few people stayed after to talk to the elf. The blonde was no exception.
He waited patiently in line, humming quietly as he watched the elf mingling with the townspeople. When his turn came, he smiled.
"Why hello there!" The taller greeted, a ghost of a smile on his lips. The smaller man waved. "Hello!" He returned the greeting. "Those were some neat tricks you did there!" The elf nodded. "I've traveled a long way, and picked up a few things here and there. You'd be surprised how much you learn, touring the world." Grian was impressed. It seemed as if the elven magician was very wise. "Well, I guess I'll see you around,...?" "Scar." the taller responded. "My name is Scar." "Grian." the bird hybrid stated. He gave one last reluctant wave to the showman before he walked off. He had this weird feeling that he just didn't want to leave, but he had to. Work wasn't going to finish itself.
The Avian sighed, prepping himself to head toward home. He had had a long, though nice, day, and was worn out. With a quick stretch, he spread his big, beautiful wings and took off into the setting sun.
Grian loved the feeling of flying. He always felt so free, the binds of gravity released, even for a short amount of time. Sadly, his flight was short and it soon came to an end. He landed gracefully on his balcony, balancing himself precariously. He trailed inside and headed to his room. The blonde yawned before curling up in his nest-shaped bed, asleep before his head even hit the pillow.
