He gave me a smile when I told him I visit the restaurant frequently and that it makes me feel happy on occasion. But I don't believe it was real. He did it because he had nothing to say. Maybe his bad day was worse than I thought. I felt that I was probably annoying him so I decided to leave. I pulled a pen out of one of the long pockets in my trench coat. I used the blue ink to write my number on Dean's unused napkin. "Here you go." I looked at his empty plate as I pushed the napkin toward him. "Call me if you ever need someone to talk to, or if you ever need help with anything." I grinned as he looked at me. "Or, I'll always be on the other end," I pointed at my phone. "If you need a friend."

He turned his head. "Friend? No one has had the guts to call me that in a long time." He smirked. I joined him as I replied with "Well, maybe you need someone brave to come along on your adventures." He looked stunned. "I don't think that will happen. My life is too fucked up for you, Castiel." I shook my head. "Nothing is too complicated for me to handle." I gave him a big grin and opened the door. I made sure that Dean could hear the bell ring, because I knew it made him happy.

"Ah, Memories!"

It made me happy as well. I guess those few times I can see a pure smile on Dean's face, it makes me smile too.
