The conversation with my parents is never ending, specifically with my mother. Of course, the woman has a million and one questions. They range from why I didn't tell her I was dating the most powerful man in the world to when we were going to give her grandkids. My father isn't on my side much, either. He decides that he's going to cosign with my mom and I could die right here and now. Aren't dads supposed to want to kill their daughter's boyfriends? I guess that isn't the case when the boyfriend in question is the damn president.

Cadence finally comes to save the day, but even she isn't spared from my mother's questioning. She's getting it almost as bad as me, seeing as how she's with Taehyung more than I am. My mom grills her, asking why Cadence didn't hook us up sooner to trying to get her to convince the man to marry me and give me children. My dad-the traitor- seems to enjoy us being interrogated as he smirks every so often.

"Mom, just drop it. Please." I beg, pushing my head into my hands.

"But this is so exciting!" She panders. "My sweet girl, dating the president; anyone in their right mind would be just as excited as I am!"

"He's just a normal man, mom." I look over to my dad for help, hoping he'll finally help me out of this situation. When he stares back at me blankly, I contain the urge to roll my eyes as I continue. "He's a normal man. He just has an extraordinary job."

"Cadence, sweetie." My mom starts, turning her attention back to my best friend. "Tell me, does President Kim talk about her alot while she's away from him?"

"Mom!"

Cadence chuckles nervously. "Just about as much as anyone else who's dating."

"So that's a yes." My mother squeals in excitement. "This is great. You haven't dated in a while."

"You have to go home now. Thanks for visiting." I stand and grab one of my parent's arms each, pulling them up from the couch. "I love you, and I'll introduce you to him soon."

For the first time in about an hour and a half, my dad isn't being a dick and stands when I pull him up. My mother-with her hard-headed ass- is heavier than she looks and stays firmly planted.

"I'm sorry, honey. I'll leave it be." I loosen my grip as my sign of acknowledging her apology. "I'm just excited is all. I want grandkids, and neither you nor Mr. President Kim are getting any younger."

"Lia," My dad gets my mom's attention, shaking his head. "Priya has said all she's needed to. Cadence is here. She's good and safe, so we can go."

'Thank you.' I mouth to my dad and he sends me a wink.

"Okay." My mom sighs, but nods. She then focuses on me. "Do you want to come stay with us for a while?"

"So you can question the hell out of me more than what you have? No thanks." I quickly shoot down the offer. "Plus I'm too scared to go outside. Cadence already said secret service is scattered around the area for my safety anyway, so I'll be okay."

"Okay." My mother opens her arms and I find myself falling into her embrace. "If anything at all happens, you better call us. You know I never leave without my pistol."

"Get this crazy woman out of my house." I laugh, kissing her cheek, then hugging my dad. "And make sure she doesn't have bullets within arms reach."

"He hid them." She rolls her eyes.

"And for good reason, Lia." My dad laughs along with me. "We'll get out of your hair."

Finally, my parents head toward the door and exit my home. I lock the door behind them and exhale a huge breath I didn't know I was holding. I hear Cadence doing the same and she falls backward into the couch.
