Taehyung's POV

I smile widely and wave at the sea of cheering people as I exit the stage. I descend the stairs on the right, pleased at the outcome of the rally. By the expression on the crew's faces, the event was successful. The crew begins to praise me for a job well done, and I thank them all for their hard work. I am led back to my assigned dressing room where a few of my staff are gathered to exchange notes on the rally and how we will proceed for the rest of the week. I take this time to plop down onto the sofa and exhale a huge sigh of relief as I remove my shoes. I have a week-long tour of rallies and press conferences throughout 3  different cities across the country, and as fun as these can be at times,  I can't wait for the week to be over. During the rally, the one constant on my mind - and the only thing that is on my mind now- is Priya. 

It's been a month since our relationship was leaked to the public, and I would be lying if I said this wasn't the best month of my life. There is something so special about leaving work every day and having my girl waiting for me. I get to  fall asleep next to her every night and wake up to her every morning. From the late-night pillow talks to the morning tea that we  have now become accustomed to, I can't get enough of her. Her smile, her laugh, her little snores, her smell, her touch, her taste - these are the  things that I have dreamed of since I had the thought of settling down. Call me cheesy, but I am falling more in love with her as each day passes, and it's eating me alive that I'm away from her, even just for a week.

It has been an adjustment for us, but more so for her having to be in the president's building everyday for a month. I am really happy that she decided to go out today. I want so badly to check-in with her, but I don't want to seem too clingy. It's just that I know she was nervous about going out, especially with how our relationship got out to the world. It is unfair how our private life impacts her daily living, just because she is with me. I want to do everything I can to ensure that she feels safe, protected, and loved as she shifts her life to fit in with mine. Thank goodness her best friend just so happens to be as close to me as she is. I don't know what either of us would do without Cadence.

"Mr. President?" I am pulled from my thoughts as my publicist Bridgette speaks, a hint of worry lacing her features as she takes the open spot next to me. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" I respond with a nod, not realizing that I was that deep in thought. It is just now that I realize that the room has emptied and it is just us left inside.

"Just checking. Your mind just seems to be elsewhere, is all."

"That obvious?" I chuckle, a bit embarrassed. "You've hit me with that line a few times recently."

She nods, giving me a soft smile. "It's hard not to notice." We sit for a moment as she clears her throat before speaking once more. "Sir, Ms. Priya really has your mind occupied. I know you really like her, but you don't think that she may be a distraction for you?"

I furrow my eyebrows, swallowing harshly before straightening my posture. "I am able to work effectively, Bridgette."

"I know, sir, it isn't that. I just-" She begins to fumble with her words, but I allow her to articulate her thoughts without jumping to any conclusions. "You are a great leader, hell, the best we have had in quite some time. I just want what's best for you and your wellbeing. That is my job, after all. I've never seen you like this before, and I don't want you to get lost in your feelings when you have your duties to run this country."

"I know how to differentiate between my work life and my home life, and I will continue to do so."

"This is new for you, sir. This is the first time you have been this serious with someone since being in office. Please be sure that you're really separating the two."
