It took Simon a week to remember how total shit it was, when Wille was in Ravenclaw. They only had one class together and only time they could spend together were the few short study sessions in a library. It even seemed that Miss Pince was also on her period or something, because normally she tolerated at least some quiet talking in her library, but not in this week. It felt like Simon haven't had a chance to really talk to Wille and ask him about his feelings.
But on the other hand, Wille kind of showed them. The day by day, he walked his gaze glued on the floor and his shoulders were always slumped. The boy was a pale shadow of the Wille that Simon knew. And even paler shadow of the boy that spend the previous week in Gryffindor...
On Saturday morning Simon literally stole the boy from the breakfast table and pulled him on the castle grounds to have a walk. The Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin Quidditch game was about to start, so they did not have more than maximum half an hour, but Simon just wanted to have at least one normal conversation with the boy.
"Wille...", he started, when they were bit away from other people, but before he could say more, Wille had pulled him in a hug. Despite Wille hugging him so tight it almost hurt, at the same time it felt like he was able to breathe for the first time in a week. He just pushed his face tighter in the taller boy's neck and inhaled the comforting smell. He almost started to cry, because it felt so satisfying just to be there close to each other.
"I've missed you so much", Wille confessed with shaky voice.
"Missed you too", Simon replied and pulled himself off little bit so he could see Wilhelm's face. There was pain still visible, but at least Simon also saw a small smile, which he replied with his own.
"Can we walk a bit before the match begins? I want to talk to you", Simon suggested, and Wilhelm followed with a nod. Despite them walking, neither of them wanted to stand far away from another.
"Do I assume right, that the week in Ravenclaw had not been the best ever?", he continued and Wille actually chuckled.
"It has not been like super bad. Not like my time in Slytherin. It just does not feel right...", Wille replied and turned his gaze to the sky. It looked like the sky was going to give them snow soon.
"But like... why the Hat put you through this if it feels wrong?", Simon asked looking he taller boy in confusion. The Hat makes decisions based on Wille and something in Wille still draws him in both remaining Houses.
"I don't know for sure... I owled Erik about the situation and he said it might have something to do with my heritage. Like you know that most of my family were Slytherins. Couple exceptions were Ravenclaws. But still something in me fights against the idea of being a Gryffindor. Maybe because that might cause a family mess. But my heart says so strongly that I belong there with you guys... I'm still writing with Erik, maybe he will find out what I should do...", Wilhelm sighed.
"But like... Your brother studied in America, right? He had no House, so why would you being a Gryffindor be a problem?", Simon continued his questioning. Maybe he just did not understand pureblood families...
"It difficult to explain and we don't have time for that today", Wille just said quietly and turned to look Simon. "But maybe Erik will find out what to do. I promise to tell you when I know more"
"Pinky promise?", Simon asked with smile and offered his pinky finger to Wilhelm. The other boy just looked it with so much confusion on his face, that Simon started to laugh.
"It's a muggle thing. If you pinky promise something, you cannot break it. Well you can, but it's just a funny thing", Simon explained laughing.
Wille actually started to laugh too and offered his finger. He had no idea what to do, so Simon curled his own pinky around Wille's and squeezed. They both just smiled to one another and finally the life felt a bit more like normal again.
