Simon had no idea, how long it took them to finally stood up from the library floor. The room around them was absolutely ruined. It looked like someone had blown a bomb. The walls and furniture were covered in black dust and paintings were thrown here and there as well as most of the books... It was a total destruction. It was difficult to even imagine all the horrors that happened in this room only couple of hours ago...
Their walk to the living room was slow and painful. Wille constantly kept on wiping his tears and he hiccupped sobs occasionally. Simon could keep his emotion a bit more in place, but his body resisted all his movements. Probably due to Kristina's Crucio...
But the hardest part was the silence. He and Wilhelm didn't have any more words to say or comfort each other. They both just wanted to take each other's pain away, but that was not possible.
And next they were supposed to talk with Aurors and Headmistress McGonagall about the happenings... Simon was not sure, if Wille could handle the situation anymore. For him it was at least a bit easier because he had not seen the torture and murder attempt. Wille had to just stand there and look, when his own mother was trying to kill his boyfriend. Simon got the physical pain, but Wille got the mental.
When they reached the living room, there was handful of Aurors and most likely a Healer because she was standing next to his mother. His mother was laying on the sofa, looking exhausted but awake. Erik stood in the corner, biting his thumb and looking at the carpet. McGonagall had taken the arm chair next to Linda. The ladies were actually having a quiet conversation when they stepped in. Neither of them seemed to notice he and Wille first, but that was quickly over because Simon just immediately ran to his mother, tears in his eyes.
"Mama", he breathed out, dropped on his knees next to Linda and buried himself on his mothers chest. He jus hugged his mother and let himself cry. The cry was as much due to pain as it was relief. His mother was alive, his mother was holding him. Everything just complexed finally in his head, that they had somehow survived.
"Simon, my boy. My love, my son, you are alive", Linda started to sob in his son's curls and just held tighter.
"Mom I'm so sorry...", he started to apologise but Linda did not have it.
"Simon stop immediately! None of this is your fault!", she said strictly and pulled Simon's face up, so they could have an eye contact. Simon could not see that much through his tears, but he could feel his mother wiping his tears away.
"Simon, it is not your fault", she repeated with warm voice. "We are alive, that's all that matters"
"Mama...", he just whined and a new wave of tears rushed out to his cheeks. He was suddenly feeling like he was a small child. A small child who just needed his mother. Merlin he was so thankful that he had a mother after this day.
Until the though spiralled in his head. Wille! Oh Merlin his boyfriend did not have a mother to go cry to. Wille's mother was on a one-way ticket to Azkaban and that said mother had just committed some horrible crimes. Simon quickly turned around to look back to the door and at the same moment his heart absolutely shattered.
His boyfriend was still standing next to the door, shaking and crying, hugging his own torso with his own hands as tight as possible. It almost looked like Wilhelm was trying to keep himself on one piece by keeping his arms around himself. Simon almost jumped in an action, but Linda just lowered her hand on his shoulder and kept him on place. He looked his mother with utter confusion, but Linda gave him a reassuring smile.
"Wilhelm", she said with gentle voice and the boy next to the door almost got a jump scare. But Wilhelm to lifted his gaze to them.
"Linda I...", he started to say, but obviously words got stuck in his throat or his damaged brain could not form a sentence at the moment.
