It was a rather sunny day outside, considering I live in England. Summer isn't always as expected but this year, it was nice. I moved to London after I finished University, I'm currently having a gap year because similar to the rest of my generation I don't have a clue what I want to do with my life. I thought having the time and living in London would hopefully give me some inspiration. Although, I haven't been that fortunate yet.
I live with my best friend Amy, she's more like a sister if I'm honest. We went to the school together, the same University and we both decided we wanted to both move to London together. So that's what we're doing here now.
We only moved in a couple of days ago and I only have one word to describe moving, stressful. Before we moved here, we lived with our parents so of course, we didn't really have any furniture of our own. Me and Amy obviously didn't really think we needed to worry about that. Of course, we were wrong. Our apartment looks so bare and empty.
That's not the only stressful matter with thing whole moving situation either. We both come from Wales and moving to England and leaving our families and friends was probably the hardest thing to do for the both of us. It is for the best though, we're getting a fresh start.
"Is that everything?" I ask Amy, whilst walking up the stairs and into our apartment.
"Yeah, I think we might need to some shopping though." She says laughing, taking a glance around at the empty rooms.
"Well, to save going later in the week do you want to go and have a look now?" I say, before grabbing my bag off of the kitchen counter.
We both get into my car and drive into town. We head straight to Ikea, luckily me and Amy both saved up a lot of money for the apartment and we actually ended up paying way under our budget, which we're definitely not complaining about. We go in and order the basic furniture we need for now and they say that they'll be able to deliver the furniture by tonight which is very lucky otherwise I don't know what we would be sleeping on tonight.
I've never actually been to London before, let alone live here. It's all so new for me. I'm lucky though, Amy knows her way around as she's been here before. It's actually where she met her boyfriend Connor. I've met him once or twice, he's a nice boy. He's in a band called 'The Vamps'. Their music is pretty cool and they all seem like genuine guys.
Amy is always teasing me about them though. I don't know why but she's under the impression that I have a "thing" for the lead singer, Brad. I won't lie, he's good looking but I don't think I'm quite as crazy about him as she makes me out to be.
"Guess what?" Amy says, pulling her attention away from her phone.
"What?" I say, taking my eyes off the road for a second to quickly glance at her in the passenger seat.
"Connor is coming over tonight.", "Oh yay, another one of my nights spent third wheeling." I say with a sarcastic tone.
"Not quite." She says, revealing a smirk to me. I stay silent, knowing exactly what she is about to say to me.
"Brad's coming too." She gives me a cheesy wink, "Shut up, why do you assume I'm in love with this boy, I've never met him before!" I say, rolling my eyes.
"I'm not saying you're in love with him, it's just me and Con have said a few times that you would suit each other. That's all." She says, grinning at me.
I hope her and Connor aren't planning on setting me up with Brad. I mean, it's not that he doesn't seem like a nice guy. I'm sure he is. It's just, I don't know if a boyfriend would be a great idea right now. I came to London to try and find myself and what I want to do with my life. I can't let any boy get in the way of that.
