It's been 3 days since I got discharged from the hospital. Since then Brad has been staying with Amy in her and Con's apartment. I can't bring myself to stay with Brad yet. He understands that it'll take time until I can fully trust him again.

That's why we've decided to break it off. Our relationship wasn't in the best of places before that night and I guess that just topped it off. I still love him, just not like I used to.

...

"I don't think it's going to work anymore Brad, not like this." I say, looking him in the eyes.

"I love you Brad, and I know you love me too but we both have to admit it's not the same anymore." I say, getting emotional.

"I know, I just don't want to lose you." He says, his eyes filling with tears.

"You won't, we can still be friends Brad. You'll see me all the time with Amy and Con and everyone." I say.

"That's true." He mumbles.

He pulls me into a hug and I wrap my arms around him. I was comforted my his embrace but at the same time afraid. I have no idea why I feel like this around him. I keep telling myself to shake it off but it isn't working

We both agree to sort the apartment out next week until then he is going to continue to stay with Amy and Connor.

...

This has all happened so quickly, one moment me and Brad were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and the next I'm in hospital because of him.

I'm heart broken, I really am. I guess I haven't really had time to think about what has happened. I never thought something like that would ever happen.
But I guess everything happens for a reason.

...

2 weeks pass and I'm in central London, sipping on my coffee whilst waiting to meet up with an estate agent.

Brad has decided to stay at the apartment whilst I want to move out, still in London but just somewhere different. A fresh start you could say.

I eventually meet the man and he shows me around the place. It's nice and spacious, and it has beautiful views. I decide to go for it and he hands me the keys right there and then.

The next week or so are spent with Amy trying to help me move all my stuff into my new place. Of course we had to do it accompanied with a few bottles of wine.

...

The months have passed like sand between my fingers and the last time I laid my eyes on Brad was the day we broke up.

We promised each other we would stay in contact but as time progresses, the more the space between us grows.

I continuously tap the pen between my fingers as I look at my laptop screen. I take a sip of my coffee before escaping work for a moment to my phone.

My phone stars to ring in my hand, it's Amy.

"Hello?" I say, happily.

"Heyy, wanna come out tonight with me for a few drinks, I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." She sighs.

"We saw each other yesterday." I say, laughing at her.

"True but I'm not gonna lie to you, Connor is doing my head in and I need some girl time with you." She lowers her voice.

"Okay aha, meet me at mine around 8?" I say, mentally taking a note.

"Yeah, see you later." She says before hanging up the phone.

I finish up my work and attempt to get ready. I can't even remember the last time I went on a night out, and finding something to wear is proving to be difficult.

I eventually throw on a simple dress and some heels before doing my make up and hair.

I rush out the door to grab a taxi to Amy's apartment. I whip out my phone and give her a quick text telling her I'm on my way.

The driver swiftly drops me off before I pay him for the journey. I make sure I have all of my things and proceed to meet Amy.

I take the elevator to her apartment before knocking on the door.

"Chummy!" She shouts opening the door with a massive grin on her face and a glass of wine in the other.

I let out a giggle before she hands me on for myself as we have a little catch up in the kitchen.

As we're chatting away, Connor comes from his room looking for his shoes.

"I didn't know you were here, nice to see you." He says, giving me a quick hug.

"Doing anything nice tonight then Con considering we're having a girls night out?" I smile.

"Yeah, just going out with the boys, they should be her-." He says before getting interrupted by a knock on the door.

He opens the door and I hear an awfully familiar voice greet him.

My eyes quickly turn to the door to see Brad standing there hugging Connor.

"Oh my god, I didn't know he was coming over. Sorry, you alright?" Amy whispers.

"Yeah, I just haven't seen him since we broke up." I say, taking a big gulp of wine from my glass.

He walks in behind Connor before he lays his eyes on me. He stops in his tracks and there's a moment of silence between us all.

"Glass of wine Brad?" Amy says in a attempt to break the silence.

"Yeah please." He says, running a hand through his hair.

To tell the truth, he was looking good. It reminds me why I fell for him in the first place.

Around 10 minutes later he's still burning a hole through my head with his eyes but he eventually speaks to me.

"How are you?" He says, his eyes meeting with mine.

For a moment it took me a while for the words to come out of my mouth. It has been months since I've seen him and now I finally have, I can't seem to speak to him.

"I'm good, just been really busy lately." I say, breaking in a smile.

"Our taxi is outside, LET'S GOOO." Amy shouts, dancing out the door.

I quickly follow her whilst laughing along.

"Grace.. see you around yeah?" Brad says, giving me a smile.

"See you around." I smile back before grabbing my bag and exiting the apartment.
