Yesterday was really fun and I can't stop thinking about Brad. What was that all about? Was he actually going to kiss me? Why would he want to kiss me?

All these different questions flood my thoughts but I try and stop thinking about it and make myself some breakfast. I put some bread in the toaster and start boiling the kettle. I turn around to grab the pot of tea bags and see Aim walking out of her room into the kitchen area, looking rather sleepy.

"Want a cup of tea?" I ask her.

"Yes please." She smiles.

My toast pops and I make mine and Aim's tea and sit down opposite her and start eating.

"So, what was that yesterday with you and Brad?" She says, taking a sip of her tea.

"What was what?" I ask, pretending not to know what she's talking about.

"Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about."

"Okay, okay." I put my hands up in surrender.

"He almost kissed you."

"I know." I say, blushing.

"Con told me he's been talking about you."

"Saying what?" I ask, worried.

"Nice things, don't you worr-"

She was interrupted by a knock at the door. I get up from my seat and open the door. It was our landlord.

"Hello, come on in." I say friendly.

"How are you girls settling in?" She asks us both.

"Good, yeah, we're loving it here." Aim tells her.

"That's good to hear. You're both probably wondering what I'm doing here considering you don't own me rent until next week."

"Kinda, yeah." Amy says, trying not to be rude.

"I have some good and bad news. Which do you want first?"

I look over to Amy, a little worried.

"The bad news first." I tell her.

"Well, the market right know is getting really competitive and my other customers are paying more than triple for what you two are paying."

"I didn't think it was a problem, you said you'd be happy to bring down the price because we're students."

"Yes, well, that's before I realized what I was losing and what I can afford."

"Oh okay. How much are you going to rise it?" I ask, not wanting to know the answer.

"At the moment, I'm charging you £300 a week, I want to raise it to £600."

Amy spits out some of her tea, "Are you kidding me?"

"We'll never be able to afford that." I mumble.

"If you can't afford to pay rent then I'm sorry girls, you'll have to be on your way. I need your decision made by Saturday. Goodbye."

I look at Amy, she looks pissed off. I'm just waiting for her to freak out.

"I can't believe her, she's such a bitch. Who does that? Who bloody makes you an offer on a place then two days after you move in she tells you that she's raising the price. This place isn't worth £300, let alone £600. Come on, we're going over Con's." She says, pulling me towards the door. She is right though, it's ridiculous that she thinks it's okay to do that.
