as i drove back home, i couldn't help but think about the encounter i had with woody. i mean of course, i still liked him. But was he really worth it? I don't have to push myself to get back with him, he broke up with me after all. The thought still lingered in the back of my head while "Carolina" by Harry Styles was playing.
As i got closer to my house, i saw too slightly familiar figures knocking on my front door. After i parked and got out, i was sure more than ever that it was gazellei and ziggler were at my front door, but now turned around, facing me.
The scary thing was, they both had a faint sewer smell and gazellei had ziggler's arm wrapped around her neck, helping him stand. They both seemed in pain and ziggler had a deep pink cut on his neck, while gazellei had one on the right side of her cheek. I stared, perplexed at the sight of them.
"What happened?" I asked, worried at the sight of my two friends in such a state.
"What happened? Are you serious right now? We called you more than," Gazellei yelled, pulling her phone out, "One hundred fifty-six times on my phone alone. Zig has way more on his. Are you out of your mind!? Ignoring us and then leaving to get clothes from macys!?" She looked at my bag, her eyebrows furrowed with anger.
I pulled out my phone to see when they had called me, and it seemed to be the day that i was trapped in the corpse hole, most of the calls happening at seven pm but then stretching out to the day of the ice cream shop.
"On friday, reese's trapped me in the corspe hole 'till someone came at like eight o'clock.. i had no service i couldn't answer you!" I said, attempting to defend myself.
"And what about saturday, sunday, today? Were you trapped in the corpse hole then too?" Ziggler spoke up, his voice cracked and low.
"I know, i know, i'm sorry." I said, letting my guard down. "Could you just tell me what happened with the two of you!?"
"Not to shock you ledge, but reese's got ziggler too, and i had to help him." She said straight-away, looking at me.
"What?! what did he do to you!" I said shifting my focus to ziggler.
"He threw me into a freaking sewer ledge!" He shouted, his face seemed to be drained of any color.
My face changed very quickly to a horrified look and I walked to them facing the front door.
"Come in, i don't want to keep you out here." I told them, gesturing my hand towards the house. They slowly walked in and i followed behind them and shut the door. "Sit down.." I said, walking to the living room.
"Now, could you explain what you mean when you say that reese's threw you into a sewer?"
"His minion manny, he knocked me out, and put me into a sewer. I'm not kidding." He answered, looking at me then the ground. "I called you so many times, but i didn't get a call back so i called gazellei instead. We were supposed to be at the science tournament, as planned. She tracked my location and found me, but it was hard to get out once we were both inside. Gazellei did try to pull me out through the hole, but the ladder leading up to it broke and i fell." He said pointing to his ankle which was wrapped in a bandage. "We were in there for hours, we finally gave up on trying to get back up there by 'fixing' the ladder but we failed and we got pretty bad cuts. By the time we got out it was almost 2 am, we were exhausted."
"sorry guys, i would've helped you, i promise." i said, i felt super guilty. I'm just thankful they're alive right now.
"It's fine, we just need to get them back...also, why did you and woody break up?" gazellei asked.
i sighed at the situation being brought up again and i started to explain everything that happened, i even included how i found tommy and snickerdoodle at the mall together.
"oh.. we'll i'm sure you guys will make up, right?" ziggler said. "we need him to help us with getting back at reese's anyway.. it's a pretty big plan. Oh yeah— we recruited two new members to join our clan as well!"
"what? who?" i asked, my curiosity going out the roof.
