Chapter 2

"We're pretty sure they're all wrong"

Y/NS POV
A little while later

I knock on the front door of the wheelers house, I expected Mike's mom to answer since she's always answering the door but instead Nancy was there

"Mike's in the basement" She said after letting me in then going upstairs, I think that's the first time she's ever actually said anything to me..that's progress

I walk to Mike's basement and see Dustin and lucas sitting on the couch in the basement with Mike standing up explaining something

"Since our moms won't let us go look for will we have to go sneak out and look on our own." Mike says while walking around

"Y/n tell Mike that this idea is crazy" lucas says as I walk into the basement and all the boys heads turn to me

"What the fuck are you all even talking about" I ask before sitting down on the couch beside Dustin

"Well I'm saying that we need to go look for will later" Mike replied then lucas groaned

"And I'm telling you that its crazy and we should just go look now, yknow when it's easy to see" lucas said as Dustin and I just stayed quiet watching

"Uh well lucas is kinda right, it's easier to go look now" I said breaking the  uncomfortable silence after what lucas said

"No we have to stay here and strategize where to look for will!" Mike argued back then put a map of Hawkins on the table infront of the couch

"I'm going home, you can do as much strategy stuff as you want while I try to convince my mom to let me go out and search" lucas said before getting off the couch and leaving

"Okay so it's just us now.." Mike said before grabbing a red crayon and drawing an X on the map

"This is where wills bike was so we'll go look there" He explained before going on about some complicated plan to sneak out that I couldn't be bothered listening to

*at night*

After getting home from Mike's house I fell asleep for a couple hours until I got woken up by Mike's loud voice through my walkie talkie

Yep and that was how I knew how to get out of bed and grab my flashlight, I slipped on my jacket and shoes before sneaking out the window again

When I start walking down the street Mike shows up and starts riding his bike beside me

After walking for awhile we finally meet with Dustin and lucas and sneak past some stupid police tape that was put up around the place where wills bike was found

"Cmon guys let's just go home" Dustin basically begs as we all walk through the rain and call out for will

"Dustin don't be a sissy" lucas says randomly turning to shine the flashlight into Dustin eyes as a joke

"Wait shut up, can you guys hear that?" Mike whispers as there's some rusting

We all point out flashlight in the direction of where the sound was and instead of an animal or something there was a girl standing there in a yellow shirt

We all stood there staring at the odd girl before I almost regrettably took of my jacket and put it on her shoulders, hey it looked like she needed it more than me

After we get out of there the boys hop on their bikes again and stare quietly at the girl who stood beside me

"Y/n I don't think she could walk back to my house..she's literally barefoot" Mike said pointing to the girl

"What do you want me to carry her or something?" I sarcastically asked not expecting Mike to quickly nod

"Please do it y/n, your the strongest here and she probably can't walk well after already walking so much" Mike basically begged

"Fine but you owe me wheeler.." I replied then Mike flashed me a smile and said thanks

As if the girl knew I was gonna carry her she quickly wrapped her arms around my neck and let me pick her up..bro how's this kid so light

The boys start riding their bike back to Mike's house while I follow behind carrying this strange kid

We finally get to Mike's house after what seemed like hours of slow walking

When we got to the basement I put the kid down onto the couch as the rest of the boys stared at her

Mike grabs a dry shirt and a towel from the washing basket and hands it to her

"Uh yknow because your wet and stuff.." He mumbled as she takes the clothes in her hands, sets then down then stands up and almost pulls up the shirt she was wearing before Mike stopped her

"Uh go get changed in there!" He yelled in shock while pointing to the bathroom that made no sense being in a basement

He takes her over and they stand talking about something but all I can really notice is Dustin standing there with his jaw basically touching the floor while he mumbled "What the fuck.."

The boys argue about her, the most notable thing being that lucas kept saying she was from some insane asylum and Dustin accidently knocking off his hat while imitating what she done earlier

"Guys just shut the fuck up, how do you think she feels? She looks like she's actually in danger or someshit, how often do you find a girl with a shaved head outside in the rain that's surprisingly light and doesn't talk?" I randomly said after saying silent which made the boys turn to me

"Y/ns right, she's probably scared" Mike said before the girl came out of the bathroom

"Well I'm going home, I dont wanna be apart of this" lucas says as Dustin nods in agreement

They both leave then things go quiet until Mike throws a pillow at me

"Cmon help me make a bed for her" He says while holding a couple blankets and pillows

*a small timeskip*

"And we're finally done" I said proudly as the three of us looked down at the shittily built pillow Fort thing we set up
But she seemed to like it though, I mean as much as someone could really like it

She sat down inside the pillow Fort and clutched the side of the blanket in her hand

"Uh we forgot to ask but what's your name?" Mike asked as he crouched down infront of the Fort

The girl rolled up her sleeve and showed us a "011" that was tattooed onto her wrist

"Woah I didn't know kids could get tattoos..is that your name? Eleven?" Mike said looking down at her wrist then back up at her and she nodded

"How about we call you el instead?" He said and she nodded in response again and mumbled "el" to herself

"Uh anyway see you later Mike and Uh el!" I said before leaving to go back to my own house hoping nobody noticed I left in the first place
