Ever

I'm in shock. Damen just confessed to me that he's immortal. He told me how it happened and why we can't be together, but he wants to be with me. He said he's going to try and do everything he can to keep us together no matter what.

"Are you alright, sweetheart?" Damen asks.

"Yeah, it's just.. just a lot to take in," I answer.

He says, "Yeah, I know, but now there's no secrets. You know every little thing about me."

"I do and it makes me happy to know that you trust me, but it's just really weird to think that my boyfriend is immortal. It's pretty cool, though once you really think about it. The only thing that sucks is that we technically aren't allowed to be together. It's sweet how much you care and that you say you're going to fight for us," I say.

"But there's something I should tell you, now. The first day that I met you, after you bumped into Allyson, she acted like a psycho. She was asking me if there was anything between us. She was literally interrogating me and I didn't know how to answer her. It was like she wanted to know everything that we talked about. As if she owned you or something, she felt like she had to know everything that happened between you and me. Today in my A.P. History class, she threatened me, saying that you and her used to have something before I came and ruined it all. She said she was going to make sure I paid for what I did and I - I was so scared, Damen. I didn't know what to say," I finish telling him.

"Oh my God, baby. Why didn't you tell me before? She can't be doing this to you. I'll talk to her about it. She's going to regret saying that to you. Just watch," he says.

I suddenly lose my appetite and can't force myself to finish my food, so we end up leaving a few minutes later. We stand up and walk back inside the school, walking hand in hand with Damen whispering sweet things into my ear. I'm blushing and giggling when Allyson walks by us, giving me the evil eye. Damen notices and gets upset. He decides to end this Allyson problem now.

He walks up to her and says, "Hey, Allyson. I want you to know that yes, there is something between me and Ever. Something special and I won't let anything or anybody hurt her. You better watch out what you say to her. She's my girlfriend and you have to respect that. Besides, why would you even care if we're together in the first place, if all there's ever been between me and you is friendship?"

Allyson seems at a loss for words, and she answers him saying in a shaky voice, "I've always wanted to be more than just friends. You just never saw it."

Now, it's Damen's turn to be speechless.

He looks at her and says, "But Allyson, I could never think of you that way. You were always like a little sister to me. Nothing more than that."

Allyson gets upset, pushes him out of the way and runs out of the building. I just stand there, astonished. Damen walks towards me and kisses my forehead.

"What's wrong, Damen?" I ask.

"Nothing, just never expected that from Allyson," he answers.

"Oh," I say as I start walking towards my next class.

"Hey, hey, hey," he says as he comes up behind me and grabs my hand. "This doesn't affect anything between us. Like I said before, I don't feel that way towards her. Trust me, you're the only one that I think about day and night, sweetheart. There's nobody else, it's gotta be you, only you."

I smile and we start walking to class, hand in hand. When we get to the door, he turns me around and faces me towards him. Then he leans in and kisses me. I feel my whole body heat up, my heart skips a beat and butterflies invade my tummy. The things this guy does to me are insane.

When he breaks the kiss he whispers in my ear, "Ever, I love you."

My heart starts racing and I whisper back at him, "Damen, I love you, too."

Damen ~

I can't believe Allyson likes me. I wonder why I never seemed to notice. It doesn't change anything, though. I think, no scratch that. I know I'm in love with Ever. She's the one and she loves me, which makes everything perfect.

Now, I just need to think of the perfect first date. What if we go to dinner and a movie? No, it sounds more like for older people, just not my thing. What if I take her to the mall? Nah, she deserves something better. Something that's cute, like her. What if I take her to the park and we have ourselves a little picnic? Yeah, that would be perfect. Not too romantic, not too formal, not too casual, it's just right.

I'm in lost in thought, until I hear the bell ring to dismiss the end of the class period. This was the last class of the day, yes! I quickly pick up my stuff and run out the door. I get to the door of Ever's last class and wait for her. As soon as I see her, I pick her up into a big hug and swing her.

"Hey, beautiful," I say as I set her down.

"Hi," she replies giggling. She drives me crazy.

I kiss her delicate, small nose and say, "Let's get you home."

I let her walk ahead of me as I wrap my hands around her waist and walk right behind her. When we get outside, I hold her hand and tell her everything I feel on the way to her house. Turns out, she feels exactly the same. She can't stop thinking about me, she gets butterflies whenever she sees me and she loves me. That's exactly how I feel about her, only double.

I can't live without her, she's my everything and whenever I'm near her, my knees go weak. She's the one, I know it.

When we get to her door, I say as I wrap my hands around her waist, "So, gorgeous. Would you go out with me this Saturday night? I wanna take you to the park to have a little picnic."

"Sounds amazing, love," she says as she wraps her hands around my neck.

"Awesome, it's a date," I reply as I lean in and kiss her. My lips and whole body heat up and tingle with feel of her lips against mine. She's the one. When I break the kiss, she looks up into my eyes with those gorgeous baby blue's that shine and drive me insane.

"I love you," I say.

"I love you, too," she replies.

Then, she walks to her door and smiles at me as she goes inside. I die a little.
