Got to move faster

I don't even think before i wolf out and start sprinting. My mind is controlling my body i don't even know what direction I am traveling. The trees and bushes are a blur as i pass them and the wind blows through my fur, I will find you Maddy , i promise.

5 hours of running at wolf speed later.

I snow is cold and wet beneath my paws and my fur has snow through it making me really cold. But i don't care i need to find Maddy. I run through the frozen waste land wondering why on earth Maddy was out here when i get a whiff of scent. Maddy! I follow it East where it is strongest yet find nothing, where is she? My heart speeds up when i see i hole in the frozen earth, i rush over to it and look down. I see i body lying very still and blood staining the ice, how on earth am i going to get down there?? I have to jump. Maddy has been staying with Jana's pack so they must be close by, I let out a long and loud howl, turn back to human form and jump down the hole. My body collides with the side of the gap and i grunt at the end impact, the cold starts numbing my finger tips and my breath turns icy. I look to my right and see a dead end, but when i look to my left i see Maddy's limp body. I rush to her side and see blood running down her left temple and various cuts and bruises on her cheeks, I pull the piece of cloth that is covering her mouth off and hear her breathing that is slow and ragged. Her skin is icy to touch and her lips are slightly blue, i lightly brush my finger tips down her cheek then put the piece of cloth back covering her mouth. The light is fading and i know that soon it will be dark and the chance of a rescue slim, I lay down next to her and put my arms around her so her head is resting on my chest. Her breathing remains ragged and she starts to shiver in her sleep so i pull her close to me, I may look like i am just comforting Maddy but her breathing is the only thing that can distract me enough to get some sleep in this icy hell hole.
