Just like yesterday, Jungkook's standing right in front of the beech wood door. It's the entrance to the Rainbow Kindergarten, the place where Yuna will spend a lot of time starting next week. Today her dad came alone, feeling much more insecure not holding his daughter's hand. Her hand may be small and fragile but she gives off this pleasant warmth, which makes him feel safe and sound.
When the handsome teacher, Kim Taehyung, opens the door for the second time already, different storms of emotions rage inside of Jungkook. First, he's annoyed that HE of all people had to open the door again. After all, Jungkook had intended to avoid him since yesterday. But he also can't deny the small spark of joy he's feeling at the sight of Taehyungs attractive smile.
"Good morning, Mr. Jeon. I'm sorry, but the director is still absent. In other words, I will have the admission interview with you today."
It was bound to happen. Jungkook is no longer surprised.
"I hope that's okay?" Taehyung asks, unsettled.
"Of course," Jungkook replies dryly after clearing his throat.
[Office]
"Please, take a seat."
Full of nervousness, Jungkook sits down on a large, black office chair on wheels. Unconsciously, he starts to turn from side to side as he observes the modern office, dominated by shades of gray. Taehyung sits down across from him.
"Would you like a glass of water?" he offers Jungkook politely.
"Yes, please."
Taehyung then stands up again to continue filling an unused glass with sparkling water. As he sets the drink down in front of Jungkook, his hand gently glides over the single father's back.
For Jungkook, this touch came very unexpected. Shocked, he knocks his knee against the underside of the wooden table. A loud bang, a throbbing pain, and a small puddle next to the glass are the result.
"Mr. Jeon, you don't have to be nervous."
With a smirk, the handsome teacher resumes his previous seat, eyeing Jungkook with a penetrating gaze, as if he's trying to undress him with nothing but his eyes.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jungkook asks, overwhelmed.
"I was going to ask you the same thing. Did you really think I wouldn't notice you watching me all the time?"
What the hell is going on? Jungkook looks at Taehyung with wide eyes, even forgetting to blink. Through his open mouth he's drawing in so much air that his chest heaves.
"I don't know what you're talking about. This interview wasn't supposed to be about me, it was supposed to be about my daughter."
"I thought this was much more about us."
"That's enough!"
Jerking up, Jungkook wants to go straight through the door. Surprised, he notices that the round, silver doorknob won't turn - locked.
"Unlock the door!" Jungkook demands in a harsher tone this time.
"You like me, Mr. Jeon, am I right?" Taehyung asks with that provocative, flirtatious look on his face.
"What are you talking about?"
Jungkook rattles the doorknob even harder as Taehyung unexpectedly stands up and approaches him slowly, almost threateningly.
"Stay away! I'm warning you!"
It's too late. With an outstretched arm, Taehyung slams his palm against the office door, inches apart from Jungkook's face. As the latter raises his fist, Taehyung grabs his wrist with a rough grip.
