Julieta and Mirabel have been secretly dating for a while now. they have to keep their relationship a secret because Julieta is Mirabel's mother. and if they came out to their families they knew they would be judged.
it just wasn't fair. Mirabel loves her mother because of the fact Julieta is the only person that stood up for her because of the fact she doesn't have a power unlike the rest of her family. two hang out often and then fell in love.
they both know there is nothing wrong with their love of course. although it can be hard being in a secret relationship, especially with your mother out of all people Mirabel wouldn't want anything else she loves Julieta, and that is what matters.
right now Mirabel is just resting in her room, bored. she already did all of her chores and even some of Camilo's since she knows he won't do them. so she had no idea what to do. but she soon got an idea. she could always go and help her girlfriend in the kitchen.
Julieta loves to cook. then again her power is that she can heal via food so it makes sense of course. Mirabel could sneak up on her while she's baking and surprise her.
once she had her plan in mind Mirabel grinned and got up, carefully going down the stairs as quietly as she could. once she was near the kitchen she hid behind the wall, poking her head out.
Julieta was currently cooking like she normally did. she was gathering up butter, eggs, and other items and placed them by a bowl. Mirabel assumed that she was making a cake.
carefully sneaking over to her Mirabel held back a laugh as she realized that Julieta didn't even notice her. she was much too involved in making the cake. once she was behind her girlfriend and mother Mirabel then tightly wrapped her arms around her.
instantly Julieta ended up dropping an egg and it splattered onto the ground making the egg crack go all over the place.
"W-who's there!" Julieta demanded.
but before she could turn around Maribel grinned and began to whisper sweetly into her ear.
"calm down, love. it's just me Mirabel. I love you so much and you are so pretty and good at cooking. I just wanted to come down here and tell you this." Mirabel informed her. she then let go of her and ran over to her mother's side.
"Oh, it's just you," Julieta said, turning around to hug Mirabel and kiss her forehead. "just to confirm you are you, right? Camilo has been tricking me all day."
"of course it's me." Mirabel replied. "it looks like you made a mess."
"and who's fault is that?" Julieta asked.
"Okay fine, I'll take responsibility for that," Mirabel said, leaning over to grab a paper towel. she then took the eggshells and threw them in the trash. she then cleaned the rest of the stuff up.
"do you want to help me cook?" Julieta suddenly offered, shuffling her feet. she didn't want to bother her girlfriend and daughter of course. but she did want to spend a lot of time with her.
"of course i do!" Mirabel said happily. she was learning a lot just from spending time with Julieta while she cooked. at first Mirabel was a horrible cook. and now, well, she wasn't the best cook of course. but she was fairly decent. at least now she doesn't burn water.
"that's great." Julieta smiled, going into the fridge to grab more eggs. "but you are not touching the eggs!"
giggling Mirabel nodded. "fineee. I'm assuming that you are making a cake?"
Julieta nodded. "for dessert. can you get me a pan?"
nodding Mirabel raced off to go find a pan. she was glad to have such a great mother and girlfriend. besides, her food is amazing. so that's a plus
