After the fiasco, Y/n L/n tried her best to go back to sleep — though this was easier said than done since she was having great difficulty doing so — whilst Yuzuki stayed out and guarded the front door in case Hideaki Koike came back. Yuzuki frowned as he peered over his shoulder to glance at the entrance of his owner's bedroom to see that it was closed.

He wished that he could join her. To be closer to her. Yuzuki would then have the opportunity to have her in his arms again, to console her, to hold her... but he acknowledged that it wasn't the time to be selfish. As of right now, his biggest concern is to ensure no one gets through the front door and nothing more. Yuzuki sat on the couch, sparing the entrance fleeting glances before falling asleep himself.

As he slowly gained consciousness, Yuzuki found himself lying on the cold floor — unmoved. He sat up with a small groan. He had such a backache and his head was pounding. 'Ow...' Yuzuki lets out a small whine before freezing in his spot when he overheard a horrible clanking, jingling sound of the doorknob.

Yuzuki's eyes narrowed as a growling came from within him, rumbling his body slightly whilst anxiousness pooling in the depths of his abdomen. From the other side of the door, he could hear the faintest of noises emitting which varied from curses, groans, and whatnot. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, sending a shiver down his spine.

His heart started beating frantically and his chest felt like it was being clenched and wrenched, a tight and painful feeling filling him with dread. Navigating around the couch, he remained focused on staying hidden, so he could later gain the upper hand.

The perpetrator was wearing thick rain boots and a black hoodie pulled over his head so that Yuzuki couldn't make out the features of his face, but from the scent alone, he knew that the stranger was none other than Koike. Koike's eyes were scanning the floor, presumably looking for the neko. Yuzuki could tell he was a pale white and his hands were quivering.

'Is he simply cold or is he just as scared of himself as I am?' The hybrid frowned, navigating around the piece of furniture to remain out of sight.

Just as Yuzuki made a beeline towards Y/n's room, Koike grabbed ahold of his legs and pulled her back which caused the neko to fall on his face. Trying to drag himself, he digs his claws into the floor but to no avail.

As Koike pulled him up, Yuzuki began to scratch his face but gasped in pain when the nails felt like they might snap upwards. He screamed and writhed under Koike's weight, kicking and swinging his feet, trying to find a way to get him off of him. He kicked him sideways with his knee but then all of his weight fell on him more than before and he whimpered, sobbing.

Waking up with a jolt, Y/n almost immediately covers her ears upon hearing the commotion outside as she is immediately filled with fear of the unknown. Getting off her bed, Y/n felt her knees starting to grow weak, but she kept herself up when all she wanted was to crouch down and hide entirely inside the closet but knew that she had to investigate what was happening outside her bedroom. The last thing she wanted was for Yuzuki or herself to get hurt because she was too frightened and selfish to do anything.

She could only catch a small glimpse at the door from where she hid. Y/n could ever so slightly see the figure of Koike beating up Yuzuki and the neko wasn't fighting back. He couldn't in the position he was in.

Y/n kicked him between his legs again with as much force as she could muster, successfully hitting him in his weak spot. Koike groaned and fell to the side. Stumbling backwards to put some space between them, she let out a shaky sigh and watched as her ex-boyfriend whipped out a switchblade.

There's a terrible gnawing in her head, and, right now, her thoughts are spinning out of control, but the fact that she didn't want to fight. Y/n was well aware that she didn't stand a chance against Koike, let alone when he's now armed. Her heart hammers in her chest, while the Yuzuki snapped his head in Koike's direction at the sound of the knife leaving its holster, his eyes wide with both bitterness and worry.

"You're a real pain in the ass, you know that?" Koike says, motioning his weapon towards his previous lover with a smug smirk tugging at his lips much to Yuzuki's growing annoyance.

Yuzuki's movements started slow and deliberate, so as not to startle either being and not bring attention to him. Within an instant, he lunged at Koike and tackled him to the ground — causing Koike to lose his grip on the switchblade. Y/n, on the other hand, retreated to her bedroom and closed the door where she waited for the chaos to be all over.

The two brawled for what seemed like an eternity, each having their turn with the blade in their hands whilst the other tried their best to snatch it away.

Uncovering her ears, Y/n hesitantly came out of her room when it suddenly went quiet and watched Hideaki Koike's body go limp whilst Yuzuki was weakly scooting, letting out small winces as he did. Rushing to the neko's side, Y/n entwined her fingers around his. Still dazed from the fight, his hand holds tighter against hers. She then pulls his arm against her chest until she can feel his pulse against her heart.

"Yuzuki?" She asked with a raspy voice before finally beginning to notice a sticky red substance that covered the entirety of the neko's body. "What happened to you? Are you alright?..." Y/n L/n stared at her hands in horror, the blood becoming the only thing she could focus on. Her hands trembled, her whole body quivered, and her breath became frantic as she reached out her hands and pressed them onto his chest in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

"Not my blood."
