THIRTEEN

Everyone sat in the RV—the air was tense—Steve slowed down as they reached the Creel house. Erica, Max, and Lucas stood up grabbing their things.

Erica and Lucas got out "Be careful" Y/n told Max as she was about to get out. The redhead nodded and stepped out of the car closing the door.

Steve drove to the forest behind the trailer park. Parking in his spot everyone gathered their things. Nancy stood at the front of the RV "Okay. I wanna run through it one more time. Phase one?"

"We meet Erica at the playground" Robin answered
"She'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready"

"Phase two?"

"Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance" Steve continued.

"Phase three?"

"Dustin, Eddie, and I draw the bats away" Y/n responded. Eddie ruffled Y/n's h/c hair.

"Four?"

"We head into Vecna's newly bat-free lair, and flambé" Robin answered once more.

"Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" Nancy instructed. "Got it" everyone replied and got up from their spots.

They headed out of the forest and to Eddie's trailer. Steve flicked on the light and dropped his things beside the mattress that laid on the floor "Be careful" said Dustin. "Thanks, buddy" Steve patted his shoulder "here goes nothing" Steve inhaled before climbing up the rope.

Letting go he flipped over landing on his legs. He looked up at the rest raising his hands "what does he want us to do, applaud?" Robin muttered sarcastically. Steve moved Eddie's mattress under the gate "Alright. Let's go."

Y/n dropped her stuff. She grabbed the rope hesitating "it'll be fine." Robin reassured. Y/n nodded her head and climbed up the rope before falling to the mattress.
"Gotcha," Steve said offering Y/n his hand. Y/n took it and Steve pulled her up their faces inches away. "Thanks," Y/n said with a little smile.

Dustin threw their stuff up to the gate and they fell. They grabbed their stuff before Eddie went up next. Y/n extended her hand to him. Eddie took her hand and pulled himself up. Next was Eddie's shield, then Robin, her stuff; Eddie, Dustin, and Y/n's spears, and lastly Dustin who was pulled up by Steve and Eddie.

They all walked out of Eddie's trailer. Steve stopped for a second turning back to Y/n, Eddie, and Dustin. "Hey, guys, listen. If things here start to go south, I mean, at all, you abort. Okay?" He ordered "draw the attention of the bats. Keep 'em busy for a minute or two. We'll take care of Vecna. Don't try to be cute or be a hero or something. Okay? You guys are just—"

"Decoys" Y/n replied "don't worry, Steve. You can be the hero." Y/n teased. "Absolutely. I mean, look at us. We are not heroes." Eddie added. Steve glanced at Y/n "Be careful" "I'll try." Y/n replied. Steve nodded before walking off but didn't get too far as Eddie stopped him "Hey, Steve?" Steve faced Eddie "make him pay." Said Eddie. Steve nodded before finally making his way to the Creel house.

Y/n, Eddie, and Dustin began gathering things to secure Eddie's trailer from the bats. Getting the things they put them on a tarp they dragged it to Eddie's trailer. Using a drill they drilled the stuff onto Eddie's trailer. After they were finished they stepped back from the Trailer.

"Not bad"
"Not bad at all"

All three looked at each other with small grins before Eddie chuckled. "Now for the fun part," Eddie said walking into his trailer. Dustin and Y/n followed him to his room. Eddie stared at his guitar in awe "it's like she was destined for an alternate dimension." Eddie said as he made his way towards his guitar "what do you say, guys? Are you ready for the most metal concert in the history of the world?" He asked picking up his guitar.
