Everyone followed Dustin as he walked quickly. Dustin looked down at his compass as the needles spun like crazy. "Something's happening."

"Dustin? Can you slow down? Dustin?" Eddie called out to Dustin. "I think we're getting close" Dustin replied looking at Eddie nearly waking into the lake before him. "Watch your step, big guy" Eddie warned pulling Dustin from his backpack."Oh, man. You gotta be shitting me." Steve said as he shined his light looking out to the lake. "I thought these woods looked familiar," said Eddie.

"Lovers Lake"
"This is confounding."

"There's a gate in Lovers Lake?" Max inquired "Wherever the Demogorgon attacked, it always left an opening. Maybe Vecna's the same way." Nancy guessed.

"Yeah, only one way to find out. "

Eddie took the tarp off the boat. Eddie and Steve both placed the boat into the water "Easy—I said easy, man" Steve remarked "Sorry, dude" Eddie replied. "Here you go." Steve offered his hand to Robin "yeah, I'm just gonna do that" Robin said placing her hands on both of their heads as she stepped into the boat.

"Thank you"
"Yeah, that works too."

Eddie stepped in as Steve continued to hold the boat "wheeler" Eddie said had he extended his hand out to Nancy "thanks" Nancy said as she got into the boat. "N/n" Eddie extended his hand to Y/n. "Thanks, Munson" Y/n thanked as she got into the boat. Dustin was about to get in but Eddie quickly stopped him "Hey, Hey, Hey. You trying to sink us? This thing holds up four people tops, okay?"

"It's better this way," Y/n said "You guys stay here with Max."Nancy added, "Keep an eye out for any trouble."Y/n said looking at Dustin "you keep an eye out!" Dustin retorted. Y/n gave him a look to which he mocked "it's my goddamn theory."

"You heard them." Said Robin "who put them in charge?" Dustin asked "I did" Robin answered. "Compass" Nancy extended her hand out. Dustin clearly annoyed handed Nancy his compass. "Hey, there you go" Steve threw Dustin's backpack back to him "ow" Dustin groaned.

Steve pushed the boat further into the water before stepping in himself "You said four!" Dustin shouted "sorry" Steve whispered back sitting beside Y/n. "Bedtime at nine, kiddos!" Robin shouted. Dustin flipped her off with a straight face "Miss you already!" Robin said as she waved her hand.

Y/n peered over Nancy's shoulder as she held the compass meanwhile Eddie and Robin rowed. Nancy and Y/n watched as the needles moved rapidly.  "Woah, Woah, Woah, slow down," said Nancy. Following her directions, they slowed and stopped rowing. Steve shined his light on the compass. 

"Woah"
"Wait,  wait,  wait."

"Guys, what's going on? Come on, talk to me. " Dustin's voice said through the walkie-talkie. "Uh, Dustin, your compass has gone from wonky to wonky with a capital ahh!" Robin answered.

Steve began to take off his shoes causing Y/n to look at him with confusion "Steve, what are you doing? I don't think this an appropriate time to get comfy." Y/n remarked. "Somebody's gotta go down there and check it out. Unless one of you four can top being a Hawkins High swim co-captain and a certified lifeguard for three years,  then it's gotta be me.  No complaints,  alright?" Steve replied.

"Hey,  I'm not complaining. I do not wanna go down there." Eddie mumbled. Eddie covered the flashlight with a plastic bag as Steve removed his sweatshirt. Y/n eyes widened. Robin smirked looking at Y/n and Steve. "Okay, uh, you're not going alone," Y/n said standing up. "Number one rule in horror movies, don't go alone," Y/n said taking off her zip-up "this isn't a horror movie" Steve replied "Yeah, well, it feels like one" Y/n remarked.
