CHAPTER 6
(Alex's POV)
Why did he have to sit here. Can't he just leave Jackie alone?
I looked over at her. She giggled.
I held back a smile. I would not smile until this jerk left our table.
I watched her out of the corner of my eye. He better not touch her.
Jackie pushed her hair behind her ears. I had known her long enough to know that means she likes him. She likes him. Why him? Can't she see he isn't perfect for her?! He hasn't been her friend since 4th grade! He hardly knows her!
Why can't she see that I really really care about her? Andrew will hurt her. And I can't let that happen.
Suddenly, Jackie's eyes rolled in the back of her head.
"Jackie! Jacks? Oh God! Jackie!" I screamed.
Andrew rushed to her side.
"Don't touch her!" I yelled at him. "Go get the nurse!"
He nodded and ran.
I held her hand. It was cold. Too cold. I thought.
"Jackie don't worry. I'm here. Everything will be alright." I said this mostly to reassure myself. But I did hope she could hear me.
" You have nothing to worry about. I am here. I will keep you safe." I whispered to her.
