CHAPTER 9
I screamed.
Where am I? Who are these people?
Then it me- I was in a hospital surrounded by doctors.
"Jackie!" said a familiar voice.
A nurse moved out of the way, and Alex jumped forward.
"Are you hurt?"
"I feel fine. Now please tell me what the hell I am doing here?"
"Jackie you passed out! In the middle of lunch. Are you okay?"
"Oh. That. It happens sometimes, but it's nothing to worry about. Can I please get out of here?"
I started to sit up. I felt dizzy and fell back down.
"No!" Alex shouted back.
I flinched. I was shocked by him being so bossy.
He looked down. I followed his gaze. We were holding hands. He quickly let mine go. It was white because he had such a tight grip.
"Jackie what where you going to tell me?" Alex asked.
"You would never believe me."
"Try me."
"Wel-"
" Hey I just wanted to stop by and..." Andrew walked in carrying a vase of bright colored flowers. He saw Alex and I, and stopped. "Am I interrupting something?" he asked.
"No!" Alex and I said together. He moved away from me, and let Andrew put the flowers next to my bed.
"What are you doing here?" Alex growled.
"Just checking in on Jackie. I wanted to make sure she was okay." Drew snapped back.
I blushed. I couldn't help it. Andrew seemed to really care about me. Which was weird. I mean he barely even knows me.
"Thanks for stopping by. She will be fine."
Andrew didn't budge.
Alex stared him down."You can leave know."
"Alex you are tired. Go home and get some sleep. Everything will be fine." I said.
"But Jackie I-"
"Go home."
Alex looked down. Like a sad dog. He opened his mouth like he was about to say something but just left the room.
Andrew leaned over and kissed my cheek. "See you later."
I was in shock. All I could do was nod as Drew left the room.
