CHAPTER 7
This is strange.
I guess it is always strange, but this seemed different from all my other dreams.
I looked around. This was my elementary school. There were kids playing around outside. Then it hit me. This had already happened before. It was the past!
I spotted myself quickly. I looked so stupid with pig tails. There were two other girls with me. I recognized who they were. Jessica, with her natural dark brown hair, instead of the bleach blonde like it was now. The other girl was Mandi. Mandi looked so different back then. She always had her ginger hair in a even braid, now it was a dark brown and always straightened.
We were laughing and smiling- I had almost forgotten we used to be close friends.
Then I saw a boy. I looked closer at him. It took me a while to realize this was Alex. He looked so sad, and hurt. His left eye was black and swollen.
I exhaled, shaking a little. I remember this day. And I never wanted to think about it ever again.
A group of boys followed Alex. Then one of them shoved him into the fence. Alex looked at them not showing any signs of pain, or being scared.
I hadn't seen this part. But I knew I didn't want to. I tired to turn away , or shut my eyes. I wanted this horrible nightmare to end. Something was preventing me from drowning out the boys. I couldn't look away and it was killing me.
"Looks to me like someone beat us to the job." said the leading boy with a smirk."Who was it? Maybe we can kick his ass to!" He laughed and the rest of the boys also laughed. Except for one. He looked up and I saw his eyes. It was Andrew. I could recognize his eyes anywhere.
The boy punched Alex in the stomach. Then again in the face. I whimpered and started shivering. I had never seen this part of the fight before.
Alex's nose started to bleed. I saw him wince in pain. But he took it. The boy looked over to Andrew.
"Your turn." He said in a very demanding tone.
Andrew shook his head fast. "No."
"STOP!" I screamed . I ran over to the crowd of boys. With Mandi close behind me.
"Leave him alone! Can't you see he is in pain!" I shouted at them. The past me was very bold, not shy at all.
I knelt down to his side. Mandi parted through the crowd.
Jessica grabbed her arm.
"Don't. Stay with me and not those losers." Jessica yanked Mandi back away from us.
Mandi looked over her shoulder. She gave us a sympathetic look. Then the boys left.
I looked at Alex and reached for his hand. He jolted back.
"Don't worry. You can trust me." I whispered.
He looked down then took my hand.
I looked so strong then. Not scared or nervous like I am now. I didn't pay attention to the rest of my dream. I had already gone through it before.
I remembered Alex telling me about his father. He would get angry, and take it out on Alex's mother. But yesterday, Alex had stepped in front of her. Trying, wanting to protect her from his cruel ,evil hearted father. And that was how he got the black eye.
I asked him why he didn't tell his teacher or go to the police. He said," Because my dad is the police chief."
The flashback slowly faded away. And I woke back up.
