as soon as they reached steve's house, eddie beelined upstairs and flopped on the bed with a loud sigh of relief.
'i'm seriously never getting out of this bed.'
'at least get your nasty shoes off of it! jesus christ eddie,' steve whined, untying the dirty reeboks that'd just been on his sheets and tossing them aside.
'stripping me already? that's bold harrington,'
'i'll make you go home and sleep on your bong water stained mattress, shut up.' he retorted, watching in amusement as eddie shrugged and shoved his face in the pillow.
steve laid down beside him with complaint from the older one for moving his arm. 'you suck when you're tired, y'know that munson?'
'i suck when i'm not tired too,' eddie said muffled, not moving his face out of the pillow as he laughed at his own joke.
'oh my god,' he groaned, hitting eddie in the back of the head as he only laughed harder.
'i said what i said, harrington.' he replied, only sounding more tired with every sentence.
'you're so stupid.'
'hm,' eddie mumbled back with a yawn.
'when does wayne get off work?'
'mm like an hour 1/2.'
'i'll go grab your stuff now, so i don't bug him later, okay?' steve said as he started to get up, only to be met with quiet snores in return.
'..idiot.' he grinned a little, moving the hair out of eddie's face and letting his eyes linger on his features.
he couldn't believe anyone in their right mind would ever dislike eddie. sure he was annoying, but in an endearing way.
after a minute or so he finally tore himself away from the sleeping one, going downstairs and getting an empty cardboard box from the garage and putting it in the backseat of his car.
15 minutes and he was back at eddie's, he'd left the door unlocked knowing he was coming back.
all the details of eddie's room now stood out in the daylight. his walls were covered in posters, flyers for his band, and printed photos from concerts he'd been to. his red-and-black guitar hung over a mirror, the dresser under it messy.
steve dropped the box on the ground, getting various band tshirts, jackets, jeans, shorts, and boxers to put in it. just as he was tossing the last shirt in, he glanced over to see a pair of handcuffs hanging from the wall.
his eyebrows raised in surprise, staring at them briefly. of course eddie owned handcuffs.
he looked around for a second before slowly taking them off the wall and throwing them in the box with what he was taking back to his place.
'gonna regret that one,' steve mumbled, closing the box and taking it out to the living room along with his (very small) amount of school things including the drug/snack lunchbox.
he went back, taking eddie's guitar off its holder and gently putting it on top of the box. if he did anything to that guitar, eddie'd kill him in his sleep.
lastly he went into the bathroom, making sure to clean up any xanax evidence eddie'd left in the bathroom. not that his uncle didn't know he did drugs, he just assumed he'd rather not find a tin of pills on the floor.
he looked through the dresser to try and find a place to put the xanax when he found a black box. inside was what looked like eddie's harder stash, with 2 more small boxes and 3 pill bottles inside. 'jesus..'
steve wasn't going to snoop though, so he reluctantly put the box back. just as he was looked back over the room to make sure he didn't forget anything, he heard a knock at the door.
shit, wayne got back early. the one reason he was doing this now.
'hey wayne i'm sorry, i was just—'
he said as he opened the door, looking down to see a guy who was in fact not wayne. a neighbor, maybe?
'is eddie here?' the man said, who looked a few years younger than wayne. he had short brown hair and green-ish eyes, and was wearing jeans and a white tshirt.
'no. i'm.. sorry, who're you?'
'his father.'
.
a/n: i'm sorry for the sort of cliffhanger .. anyways i NEEDED to add in eddie's cuffs i just think it's so funny theyre actually in his room
