the alarm beside their heads went off, eddie groaning and quickly hitting the top of it to shut it up.
steve shifted a little, yawning as he shoved his face into the crook of his neck exhaustedly.
'late night, harrington?' eddie said mockingly, morning voice low.
he laughed a little, still not moving. 'yeah, thanks for that.'
'my pleasure, believe me.'
steve could hear the grin in his voice, rolling his eyes a little. 'you're so stupid,'
'hey, you get to be good at making mac and cheese and all that cooking shit, and i can put that and numerous other things in my mouth.'
his jaw dropped, screwing his eyes shut at his awful joke. 'oh my god eddie,'
'saying that again harrington?'
steve prodded him in the ribs, only getting a harder laugh back.
'i'm sorry! you keep setting them up for me.'
'fuck off,' he groaned, yawning again. 'what time is it?'
eddie looked over at the clock, still refusing to believe because of steve he was actually waking up early. '7:25,'
steve let out an 'ugh', sitting up a little and propping himself up on his elbows. 'we should leave soon, robin's gonna be pissed if i'm late again.'
'yeah, yeah.' he rolled his eyes, getting up out of the bed. he was only in the boxers he had on last night, at some point steve's sweater got too hot and he took it off.
steve on the other hand, had nothing on. the blanket sat low on his hips, eddie looking at him for a second like he didn't want to leave.
'at least you won't have to worry about covering those up,' he nodded down towards steve's chest/hips, making him look down and see hickeys just as dark as the ones on his neck were.
'more, really?' he groaned as eddie grabbed a pair of sweatpants off the floor and tossed them at him.
'don't act like you don't love it, harrington.' eddie said in a mocking tone, giving him a sarcastic wink and stretching as he walked into the bathroom.
steve just watched him walk off, the very slight muscles in his back moving as he stretched.
'jesus christ,' he whispered to himself, pulling the sweatpants on and grabbing his old hawkins phys ed hoodie from the closet.
he followed eddie into the bathroom, laying his forehead on his back between his shoulder blades tiredly as the longer-haired one brushed his teeth.
eddie looked up in the mirror, watching steve's arms wrap around his waist. 'you're clingy, y'know that?'
he just hummed in reply, which was cute.
'harrington. we have to pick up robin,' eddie said, he was getting closer with her as time passed and didn't want her to hold a grudge with him for always making her late.
'fine.' steve dragged out the 'e', grabbing his toothbrush and fixing his hair as eddie went to get dressed.
he went downstairs, pulling on a pair of jeans and a mötley crüe tshirt from the clothes steve'd brought over.
just as he put his shoes on, steve came downstairs with the keys to his bmw.
'don't say a word to robin about anything, okay?' he raised his eyebrows, not even wanting to know how much she'd tease him. 'i'll never hear the end of it.'
'aw,' eddie said in disappointment, following him out to the car and being careful not to trip like he did that one time.
he got in the backseat, leaving shotgun for robin as always as steve backed out of the driveway.
'wait, does she think you're the top—'
'eddie.'
'sorry.'
after a while, the 3 of them finally pulled into the parking lot on time.
'i think you should just shoot your shot with vickie, robin.' eddie shrugged, dropping his arms by his side as he got out.
'but-'
'you'll never know if you don't try! plus, i've already been held back 1 year, if anyone messes with you i can beat the shit out of them and make it 2,'
robin did love eddie for that. 'shit, fine.'
'hell yeah!' eddie said excitedly, putting an arm around her shoulder as the 3 of them walked in.
'you got this, okay? go!' he pushed her towards vickie, wiggling his eyebrows before dragging he and steve off so they could talk.
'you're not getting yourself held back again,' steve said, looking over at him. 'oh, when's your test?'
'last period,' eddie yawned, the two of them beginning to walk down the hallway to class.
'as long as you get a high 70s grade, it'll bring your grade up to a d and you'll pass, munson. that's all you need to graduate.'
'no pressure though, right?' he rolled his eyes, head falling back a little in exhaustion.
'if you pass,' steve started, raising his eyebrows at him. 'i'll return the favor.'
'you'll return the—' eddie questioned, it hitting him in a matter of seconds that steve was talking about last night.
'oh,' he grinned, nodding.
'i'll pass.'
