Delilah's pov:
It's been about a month sense me and Pony got back together and it has been amazing. We've done everything together. We've watched the sunset together, went to the library together and so much more.I haven't talked to Cherry though. Ever sense she told me that she'll make Pony love her I've just been distant towards her. I told my mom about me dating Pony but I ordered her to NOT tell Cherry cause then we'd have problems. My mom was happy for me thankfully.
I was now getting ready to go to the drive in with Dally, Pony and Johnny. They asked me yesterday if I wanted to come during lunch cause we all went to the DX together.
I touched up my makeup fixing my mascara and then making my way downstairs. I grabbed my leather jacket and my shoes. I grabbed some money from my purse and shoved it in my jean pocket.
"Mom! I'm leaving now!"
"Alright be safe!" My mom yelled back
I turned back to the door and headed out and started walking to the Curtis house.
Pony and Johnny will be there but Dally won't. He told us to meet him at the corner of Pickett and Sutten. So we'd meet him there.
I made it to the house and helped myself in. It was a Friday night so everyone in the gang was hanging around the living room.
Two-bit was sitting on the floor with a beer, watching Mickey Mouse. Steve was arm wrestling with Sodapop in the dining room. Darry was sitting in his recliner watching the tv for once. And Pony and Johnny were sitting on the couch watching the tv too.
"I'm here." I said while cleaning my shoes off on the mat.
"Hey." Pony said while getting up from the couch and making his way over to me.
He grabbed my waist and kissed my forehead. He smiled at me and I smiled back. He took my hand and led me to the couch to sit with him.
I sat down in between Johnny and Pony. We were meeting Dally at 7 so we can walk to the movies and get there early enough so we don't miss it, sense the movie starts at 7:30. It was about 6:30 right now, so we had some time to kill.
We watched tv for a little until it was time to go.
"We should probably head out now." Pony said while getting up and facing me and Johnny.
"Alright." Pony held out his hand to help me up from the couch. I happily took it and walked to the door to get my shoes on. Johnny got up too and grabbed his shoes, so did Pony.
"Hey Pony don't forget your jacket or you'll freeze to death." I said pointing my finger at him with a serious look.
"Yes ma'am." Pony smiled and grabbed his jacket.
Johnny got his shoes on and he fixed the collar on his denim jacket. I can agree Johnny looked ok. He didn't look uncomfy or hurt, he didn't have any bruises, he just looked ok. Like he was able to handle life right now.
"Alright Darry we're heading out!" I yelled while opening the door to leave. Johnny and Pony following shortly behind me.
"Alright be careful! One of you carrying a blade?"
Me and Johnny pulled out our switchblades to show to Darry. Darry nodded his head and shooed us away.
I opened the door and started walking to meet dally. Pony and I held hands while we walked. It was dark outside, it was around November meaning Christmas was coming around, but that also means it's freezing outside 24/7.
I was freezing but the night sky looked nice so I looked up and studied the stars, not paying attention to where I was going, just letting Pony's hand guide me.
Pony looked at me, noticing I wasn't paying attention. He stared at me for a minute before I looked down to meet his eyes. He smiled softly.
"You look really beautiful, I think you should wear leather more often." Pony said
I blushed and smiled.
"Thank you I kinda like it too. It's got that greaser feel." I said while laughing softly
Pony smiled even bigger and looked back in front of him. Johnny was still walking next to us with his head down, looking at his shoes and kicking a rock.
I let go of Pony's hand and wrapped my arm around Johnny's shoulder.
"So soldier, when are you gonna get yourself your own girl?" I said while looking at Johnny.
He looked up and smiled at me.
"I'm not sure, Delilah. No girls seem interested in me." Johnny shrugged.
I scoffed.
"Oh Johnny come on. You're good looking, I'm sure there's one girl out there that would fall to their knees for ya!" I said nudging my hand into his side.
Johnny laughed a little and shrugged again. Looking back down at his shoes, he was thinking. Maybe there was a girl he had in mind?
"Is there someone?" I asked smirking at him
Johnny looked at me with a huge smile on his face, blushing as red as a tomato.
I gasped happily.
"There is someone! Tell me about her!" I said letting my arm fall of his shoulder and holding his arm.
Johnny rolled his eyes and smiled.
"Her names Betty, she's a real looker." Johnny said, blushing like crazy.
"She nice? To you?" I asked really only caring if she's nice to him. He shouldn't be falling for some stuck up girl who could care less about him.
"Yeah, she talks to me actually. Nobody does besides you guys."
I slugged my arm back over his shoulder and nodded.
"That's what I like to hear, a pretty girl treating you right. You deserve the best Johnny." I said looking at him with a soft smile. I meant every word I said.
Johnny looked back at me with a sweet smile too.
"Thanks Delilah. You dig ok." Johnny said while turning to look in front of him.
"Thanks Johnny." I said smiling and putting my arm down.
I grabbed Pony's hand and looked at him with an exited smile. I knew he hadn't listened to me and Johnny's conversation because he was looking up at the sky. I'm surprised he didn't run into a pole or something.
Pony looked at me, taking his gaze off the sky.
"What you so smiley for?" He said smiling.
"You won't believe it!" I squealed excitedly
"Tell me all about it." Pony said while we kept walking to Pickett and Sutten.
