I closed my eyes tightly, preparing myself for whatever was going to happen.

But nothing happened.

The clothes weren't pulled from my hands and there was no pain at all. Everything seemed fine.

I opened my eyes slightly, looking over to where the lady was.

But Wilbur was in the way, holding her wrist tightly as he glared at her. I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder and I jumped, whirling around to see Quackity and Sapnap there, offering their hands out for me.

I took Quackity's hand, who was right there and he dragged me away, Sapnap putting headphones over my ears as we walked towards the dressing rooms. Random music played through the headphones loudly, but even then I could still hear yelling.

We tried on clothes quickly, with me leaving the headphones on, letting them choose the songs I listen to.

When we were done, I followed them out of the change room area to the cash register. I could see the lady glaring at us from outside, and Wilbur sat near her, smoking as he waited on a bench. I doubted he was supposed to be smoking, but I wasn't going to go tell Phil or anything so it was fine.

Quackity was the one to pay for the clothes, grabbing a credit card from one of his many jacket pockets and using that. The clothes went into a bag, and then we left, ignoring the lady entirely.

Wilbur perked up when he saw us, putting out his cigarette quickly, before standing up to join us.

"Sorry you had to deal with her" I muttered quietly to him, pulling the headphones down from my ears as the other two ran to the next shop, leaving me walking behind Wilbur.

"It's fine. She shouldn't be able to hurt you anymore" I probably looked confused when he said that, but in my defence, it makes it sound like he was threatening her.

I backed away from him when I saw his eyes change from the warm brown to a golden yellow. He just smiled and opened his arms up "Give me a hug" His voice changed. It was more melodic, more convincing.

I felt my body move without my will and I let him pull me into a hug. My vision seemed cloudy, and my brain just seemed to stop, not at all finding a reason to not listen to Wilbur.

And then everything was back to normal, and I somewhat tried to pull away from Wilbur, but he held me there in that hug for another minute before he finally let me go.

I liked it.

No I didn't.

Stop

We can't do this again

Not again

I was dragged around for the remainder of the day. I followed behind the three, not really doing any shopping of my own. I didn't want them to pay for me. It already sucked that they were the ones that had to pay for my clothes while I sat there broke and useless.

They weren't much help.

They kept offering to buy me things, showing me things that they thought I would like, etc. The only thing I really let them buy me was a plush, but even then I didn't have much of a choice. I just didn't pay attention for a few minutes, and then five minutes later when we left the store Sapnap forced the plush into my arms, telling me it was mine now. None of them would take it back no matter how much I tried.

So now I am stuck with an arm/leg-less fox. That was extremely huggable.

I got tired near the end, and Sapnap was too, so we went over and sat down close to the parking lot, waiting for Wilbur and Quackity to finish with their shopping spree.

Everything seemed to be going fine.

And for some reason, I just couldn't run away. I had multiple opportunities to run, but I couldn't. As if something was stopping me.

Maybe Wilbur took over me. Maybe he used his powers and forced me to stay with them.

But my mind wasn't fuzzy like it was earlier. It didn't feel like I was being forced.

It just felt more like I  didn't want to.

Which is wrong. I can't get attached. I won't get attached. I can't.

I wasn't sure why they were being this nice. Maybe they were trying to butter me up so they could kill me or hurt me for hurting Phil the other day.

Sapnap sat on his phone next to me, scrolling through TikTok.

I, with a dead phone, instead people-watched, noticing how little people were there. Maybe not many people lived in this town. Even though it seemed huge.

Halfway through the time we spent waiting, I suddenly felt a tickle at the back of my neck. I shivered from the feeling, glancing around, trying to figure out why I felt like that.

Sapnap looked up from his phone, and I followed his gaze, seeing Wil and Quackity coming towards us. We stood, and we all made our way towards the parking lot.

But the tickle on the back on my neck didn't leave. It stayed, and I was still shaking as we went to the truck.

Wilbur looked over to me at one point, noticing how I was looking around, the plush tightly held to my chest.

"Are you ok?" He asked, but before I could answer, I spotted who was watching me.

Two men were following us, not even pretending to not be watching me.

I recognised them. I recognised the one with the green streak in his hair, and the dumb beard of the other.

I would have frozen if they weren't getting closer.

I turned back forward, walking faster. The others looked at me, confused.

"We have to go"

They still looked confused, but hurried to walk with me. We loaded into the truck quickly, and we pulled out of the parking lot.

I looked behind us, slightly relieved that we got out of there.

Then I saw the car. There was a black car a bit behind us, and in the front window I could see the two there, the driver making eye contact with me.

"We have to go faster" Sapnap followed where I was looking, noticing the fact that the passenger of the car had a gun.

"WILBUR!"
