AFTER a long, crowded day at the police station, the two were finally sitting beside each other in Mal's king-sized bed. Hyunjin rested his exhausted back against the soft pillow behind him, letting out a small sigh in the process, then glanced at his wife for a brief moment.
She had her head tilted down and her eyes fixated on her fidgeting hands between her thighs, thinking about something.
"Jagiya, what's wrong?" He asked in a soft, concerned voice, sitting up straight despite his tired muscles aching in protest.
"Nothing, beautiful, I'm fine," she replied, still avoiding his gaze.
He sighed again and inched closer to her, wrapping his arms around her in a tight side hug.
"Please tell me. You know you can trust me," he assured, resting his head on her shoulder. She turned to him with a small, fake smile.
Then, she pulled him closer to her by wrapping an arm around his waist. He hugged her tighter and inhaled, his muscles relaxing at the overwhelming sensation of his body against hers.
"I'm really sorry I didn't believe you, pretty. And I'm sorry for treating you like shit and kicking you out of the house," she apologized sincerely, planting a small kiss on his soft hair, "I should've known better."
He nodded, overwhelmed by her heartbeats against his chest.
"Jagiya, it's okay. I promise." He replied, closing his eyes to enjoy her tight embrace. "You mean everything to me. I'm not mad."
She kissed his hair again and squeezed his weak body tighter.
"Besides," he began, "I should've known better than to hide something like that from you. I should've known you wouldn't make me feel anything but safe with you, but I was really scared."
She nodded at his words.
"I understand how you feel, pretty. I'm your safe place, and I will always be. From now on, if something is bothering you, you come to me and I'll do my best to fix it and cheer you up. Okay?"
He let out a satisfied hum, his face buried into her chest while she cuddled him close to her embrace.
"I miss you so much," he whispered, raising his head to look at her warm expression.
She murmured a similar reply, leaning in closer to his face. She licked her lower lip before stopping only a few inches away from his parted lips, waiting for any sign of consent, which he did not hesitate to give.
Their lips crashed against each other a few seconds later. She wrapped her arms around his waist to slightly pull him up in a more comfortable position, their mouths still attached.
"I love you, jagiya," he whispered, his lips brushing against hers. She answered by pressing their lips once again in a heated, passionate kiss.
"I love you too, pretty."
He sighed heavily at the sense of his exhausted muscles relaxing in her arms, returning the open-mouthed kiss and trying to match her pace. Her tongue met his after a few seconds, and he lightly moaned at the feeling of her inside his mouth.
She smirked and slightly pulled away, only sand beads could tell them apart. While she held onto his behind, she leaned in for another long, heated kiss.
"I'm always there for you, pretty," she hummed through the kiss, running one hand through his soft hair to drive him closer to her body while the other one grasped his buttocks tightly.
"I know, jagiya. I'm always here for you too..."
She sent him a soft grin, breaking away from the kiss for a brief moment to hug his body close to her chest.
"And..." She began, her expression turning darker and her eyes dropping to the floor. "I know your parents treat you like a piece of garbage. I know you're upset, so if you want to talk to me, you know I'll listen."
She rolled her eyes at herself, lightly chuckling at her own words, "heck, I'll be your parent if you want me to."
He giggled at that, nodding slightly in agreement.
"I know, jagiya," he replied in a soft tone, "you're always there for me. I'm so glad for that."
She placed a small kiss on his forehead before returning her attention to his lips once again, noticing how red, puffy and sensitive they had turned.
"You're really pretty," she complimented with a small smile, "I'm so damn lucky."
He giggled and leaned in for another deep kiss.
And was met by the loud vibrations of his wife's phone that was placed on the nightstand. They both groaned in frustration, rolling their eyes at who it might be.
To his surprise, however, she continued to return his soft kisses with deep, passionate, which resulted in him moaning at how sensitive his lips had turned.
"Aren't you going to check that?" He breathed out after breaking away for a second.
She thought for a moment before staring into his dazed, exhausted eyes, then lightly giggled as she wrapped him in a bear hug.
"No," she replied. "Tonight is all about you, beautiful."
A satisfied, tearful smile crept its way over his handsome face.
"Thanks, jagiya."
