VEGAS.

The past few weeks had been uneventful, ever since that mission, the whole family laid low for a while. Except for Kinn who still had to handle the legal company, and Pete who still works under his orders. I still took and fetched Venice from his daycare and day by day, we got earlier and always on time.

We were still cold with each other, but we both knew what was good for us, and that was Pete. I remember feeling like I won when Pete scolded Venice for throwing his food at me on the table, he was so mad he didn't prepare Venice's bath, and I had to do it instead! Since then, Venice and I were casual whenever Pete was around.

But when he wasn't, we'd bicker. Well, mostly I would since the little demon still couldn't talk.

Right now, I took Venice home and Pete was still out at work. We were just watching the television when the demon started to hiccup.

"Oi, what's wrong?" I asked without looking at him.

Slowly, his hiccups were starting to happen consecutively and loud. Sooner, he was crying silently like he didn't want to bother anyone. I glanced at him, he looked really uncomfortable.

"Hey, little demon, what's wrong?"

He stared at me with tears in his eyes but his shoulders were shaking from his hiccups. My eyes were laced with worry, I didn't know if I should call Pete or bring him straight into the hospital. His maid, Lilac, as I remember, wasn't here since yesterday. She asked for a vacation leave for her mother's birthday.

I immediately carried Venice, I didn't bother to get him on his basket.

I put his seatbelt on and placed two pillows beside him so he wouldn't sway too much and fall on the ground. I didn't even change his or my clothes, I ran the car to the hospital where Tankhun's doctor resides, Doctor Top.

I was a Theerapanyakul and he was a family doctor, so we had an exception for the appointments.

He was surprised to see me there with a baby, "What's going on?"

"I... He was hiccuping and he started crying and I didn't know what to do, is he okay?" I stammered and just pointed at Venice so he would do his thing.

Venice probably sensed my panic and he started crying a little louder than how he did earlier. What a drama king. I commented, but I was still worried.

I heard the doctor chuckled and carried Venice, he gave him a few taps from the back, and suddenly, Venice burped. He explained that Venice just had a tummy ache due to it being filled with air, when this happens again, he advised me to not rush to the hospital and just give him a few taps and carry him around.

I sighed seeing Venice was back to his usual stupid-looking state. Don't get me wrong, he has this sharp eyes like mine, but his... doesn't really look really sharp. His mouth would always be parted and saliva would flow down and he really looks stupid. I tucked him to his seat again and stared at him from the mirror.

"You hungry? Let's get something to eat, something for your Dad, and I'll fix yours later." I said.

"Hey, where have you two been? Oh!! Dinner?" Pete flashed me a smile and took Venice from my arms.

He told the little demons stories of how his day went; and told me about the errands Kinn asked him to and his complaints about how tired he is.

I stared at him as he spoke and smiled a little seeing how tired yet contented he was. Venice's looked shifted between the two of us, his eyes insinuated that he found the two of us amusing and wanted to laugh at me. I glared at him seeing he was now glancing at me and his food and giggling from time to time.
