VEGAS.

I don't know which is more blinding: the clear white ceramic tiles of the hospital, or the light's reflection from Pete's flowing tears.

I don't know why Pete was keeping a safe distance between us when it seems like he needs me the most right now. I sent a glare towards the woman I never want to see in my whole life again. I just hope she finally show her true motives upon wanting to take Venice with her again. After neglecting your responsibilities as his mother, you decide to show up after 17 fucking years. I want to yell at her for making my family run in different directions, even Pete tries his best to avoid me now.

Looking at Pete for 16 straight minutes, he finally returned my gaze. I could sense him feeling so small, so powerless. I couldn't handle it anymore, I got on my foot and walked towards his direction. Thankfully, he no longer walked away from me, he gladly accepted my embrace.

I heard a snort and scoff from behind. Pete was bothered, I wasn't. I tightened my hug on his, wanting to let him know I don't give three flying fucks to whoever is around us. He needs me, I need him, Venice needs us; and that's what matters the most to me now. If it didn't, I wouldn't be here putting up with this whore who's only after my son's money. Fuck her, she's got no right over Venice after all she's done.

But every time I want to knock some sense into my son, I just couldn't. I want the best for him at all times, she's not it. I know damn well she's not it... but I don't want to deny him his right to see his biological mother. I'm doing this for Venice because I don't want him to grow up like how I did. No choice. No room for emotions. No opinions. Just plain old missions. I don't want Venice to be boxed in the Theerapanyakuls, I want him to have a life... I stared at his mother. Even if it means giving this bastard a chance.

I felt Pete calm down. After bringing him to where I used to sit, I brought him a glass of water. He is so out of himself, probably blaming himself in his mind. It's not his fault, it's none of ours. I badly wanted to let him know that, but at this state? He wouldn't listen to shit aside from the doctors.

"Family of Venice Theerapanyakul?" One of the doctors announced.

The three of us quickly surrounded the doctor.

"I'm his Dad."

"I'm his mother."

Pete and the bastard said at the same time. The doctor raised a brow, "So you're the parents?" He cleared.

Carefully, I pulled Pete to my side. The doctor immediately understanding what the situation is. The bastard mother rolled her eyes, no emotions evident from her face. Unlike Pete's, he looks so scared, guilty, and sad.

"Good evening, doctor. My name is Vegas, I'm Venice's biological brother. This is Pete, my partner." I introduced. Doctors here aren't allowed to disclose private informations about their patients, I noticed him waiting for the woman to speak. "She doesn't have to be here, but she's Venice's biological mother. She abandoned him after she gave birth to her son, does that still justify her relationship with Venice? If yes, please carry on." I sarcastically said.

The doctor gave a small smile. "Venice is in a stable condition, yet still unconscious. He hit his head pretty hard from the crash, I don't think he'll wake any sooner. It is advisable that you talk to him when you visit, it might help wake him up." He said. "But please, do not fight in his room, it might make him recall the accident and send him to a permanent comatose." He added.

Pete and I offered a two-handed wai, he guided us to Venice's room. My hands traveled to Pete's back as soon as we entered, the man beside me covered his mouth seeing how Venice ended up looking. His mother, on my other side, appeared to be shocked as well.
