Amelie and Jacques started writing letters to each other. They talked about their lives, their families, and everything. The letters soon evolve. They started talking about love and marriage. Amelie received a letter not from Jacques but from Maxwell Bouvier, Jacques's cousin, inviting her to a ball.
To my dearest Amelie,
You are invited to my spring ball this coming March 22nd. You still remember the old mansion that you always went too, thats the venue. I hope you come and enjoy the ball. It's a masquerade ball.
-From you dearest friend,
- Maxwell Bouvier
"A ball?" said Amelie with a wondered thought, then she asked her butler to call her best friend ,Ashthier Devereux, to help her choose the perfect dress and mask to wear. "Today is... March 18" said Amelie "Well! I have 4 days to prepare" "4 days is not enough to prepare for such a huge event Amelie" said Ashthier in a reprimanding tone "We have to go to the tailleur this afternoon" said Asthier "Can we go to Madame Gastrella's?" asked Amelie "Fine... It's your dress anyways" replied Asthier. They had tea and left after lunch. As Amelie was preparing for the ball with Ashthier, the Bouvier family was having a family discussion "Now, I do not want something to happen. Which means Jacques, I do not want to hear any bad news about you" said the head of the Bouvier "Yes, grandfather, I understand" replied Jacques "The ball must be a success and anyone who does anything to ruin that perfect evening will never be Bouvier again! He or she will be no longer minded by the family and will not be an heir of the riches of the family" said the grandfather. Soon all of the Bouviers went off.
