Chapter 8

Ever since Amelie and Maxwell were together, Amelie seemed happier and calmer. "Do you know what day is it?" asked Ashthier to Amelie "What?" "It is Valentines day" said Ashthier with a smile on her face. Amelie went down from her room and saw 3 different kinds of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers. "Who is this from?" asked Amelie "Is it not obvious Amelie" said Ashthier. Amelie saw a card and she looked at the name and it said

To Amelie,

            May you enjoy this bouquet of flowers.

Maxwell

"That is so sweet!" said Ashthier "I am happy for you" "Thanks Ashthier." "Mademoiselle Gravois?" the maid said as her head poped out of the study door "Yes?" "There is a letter for you" then the maid gave it to Amelie "I will not read that" Ashthier grabbed it and read it, it came from Jacques

He owes me money for those. Can you remind Maxwel

"Oh, look Amelie. You are invited to a Valentines ball near the eiffel tower" said Ashthier "This invitation came from Oncle and Tante" said Amelie. "It is tonight" said Ashthier "Surely I have a good gown for this occassion" said Amelie as she was looking for a decent gown to wear "I will help" said Ashthier. "Maid! Call Amelie's hair dresser and tell him to go here immediately" said Ashthier to the maid "Yes mademoiselle Devereux" "Do not worry Amelie, you will look amazing"

That night

Amelie was talking to her family friend. Maxwell was there as a representative of the Bouviers. Amelie was distracted by Maxwell, she would look at him while someone is talking to her. "Amelie?" asked Ashthier "What?! Yes?" said Amelie in a shocked tone "You are distracted" said Ashthier in a frustrated tone "Go... Talk to him" said Ashthier, Amelie went to Maxwell and danced with him.

Some of the adults were murmuring while they were dancing "I prefer mademoiselle Gravois to be with Jacques, they look better together" "Forgive the child, maybe something happened"

While they were dancing Amelie's face was sad "What is the matter Amelie?" asked Maxwell "Nothing" said Amelie. They both remained silent for the rest of the night. Maxwell took Amelie home.

 "Good night Amelie" said Maxwell "Good night" said Amelie, she looked at Maxwell as he left. "What a night"

The next day

Amelie woke up and no one was waking her up. "Finally! I am awake!" then Amelie stretched her arms and took a bath and changed her clothes. She went down stairs and saw Ashthier and Maxwell sitting on the couch. "What are you two doing here?" "I came for tea" said Ashthier "Oh! And Blayze is outside"

(In Amelie's mind)

I remember when it was Jacques here....

"I am here to talk to you" said Maxwell. Amelie could not resist but to talk to Maxwell first while Ashthier was outside playing with her dog Blayze.

"What is taking those two so long" asked Ashthier as she was petting her dog. Then she saw Amelie and Maxwell walk towards her "Where have you been?" asked Ashthier. Amelie and Maxwell ignored that question and had tea. They all started talking to each and time went by very fast. Ashthier and Maxwell had to leave and Amelie was left alone.

"I made the right decision.... right?" Amelie asked herself.

The following day

"Amelie can you help me?" asked Ashthier "I need to write this letter to a very important person, and I need your help since you are all professional and stuff" "Sure I will help you" said Amelie. "Mademoiselle Gravois?" the maid called as her head popped from the door "Monsieur Maxwell is here" she said. Maxwell entered the room and help too with the letter writing. Afterwards, Amelie, Ashthier, and Maxwell ate dinner at Amelie's house.

Amelie then went outside, to the garden, after Ashthier left. Maxwell was still there, and he saw Amelie outside picking roses.

"What are you doing?!" shouted Maxwell "You will prick yourself with those roses and the shears!"

"I do not care, I want to do it" said Amelie "Give it to me I will do it" said Maxwell.

"No! I will do it!" shouted Amelie, they had a sweet moment, fighting over the shears but apparently Maxwell won.

"Thanks for being here Maxwell" said Amelie "I will be here for you forever"

Maxwell have finish picking the roses and removing the torns, he gave it to Amelie "Those roses are as beautiful as you Amelie" "Do not flater yourself Maxwell" then Maxwell went near Amelie and stole a kiss from her. Maxwell took a step back "Goodbye Amelie" then he went home. "Why? Why does those two have the same style? Kiss you then leaves?" then Amelie went back to the house and slept.
