Chapter 12

THE FOLLOWING DAY

"Alex!" shouted Amelie

"Yes?" 

"I will meet with Maxwell, you can go outside if you want to"

"Ok Amelie"

"Goodbye" said Amelie

"Enjoy your day Amelie"

"Maybe I can go and see Morelie"

By this time, Morelie and Alex has spent so much time together. Morelie toured Alex, and  they even have a meeting place. Jacques was always left with Ashthier, which led Jacques liking Ashthier, but only a little. Amelie has completely moved on from what happened between her and Jacques and starts spending a lot of time with Maxwell, they would go out on dinners, lunch, and walk in parks together. Amelie is happy that she met Maxwell because he helps her reduce stress from all the things she thinks of, since she is not really living a peaceful, stressful life. She has to manage a business that was given to her by her parents. 

In the park

"Alex!" shouted Morelie

"Morelie, hello"

Morelie hands a rose

"For you mademoiselle" 

"Thank you Morelie"

"How is life here in Paris?" asked Morelie

"Its going really well... I love paris!"

"That is really good" said Morelie

Meanwhile in a restaurant

"I am happy that you came Amelie"

"It is very nice of you to even invite me to a place like this"

"I want to treat you with care, because you are really precious Amelie"

"And you are precious to me" 

Meanwhile in the streets of paris

"Jacques?"

"Yes Ashthier"

"Are you sure it is fine that you come with me"

"Why? Is it bad for me to come with you?"

"No... it is just that you look really uncomfortable"

"They told me to go out more, no one was available but you"

"They who?"

"My family"

"Oh...  well... lets just walk then"

On Christmas day

Alex planned a christmas party in the house of Amelie. She invited all her friends, Ashthier, Maxwell, Jacques, and Morelie. But Amelie wanted to invite more guest so she invited Ranier and Deziree and other high class people. They were all talking, listening music the nice music, eating, and socializing. 

"Welcome! Ladies and Gentlemen! To the Gravois Christmas celebration party! My cousin, Alex, has planned all of this. And that is why all of you are here today. Let us give a round of applause to Alex! And have a great evening!"

Everyone claps and continued with the party. People started to dance, Amelie was of course with Maxwell, Jacques was sitting down drinking wine, while Amelie was dancing with someone, Alex and Morelie was eating together.

"Alex...."

"Yes Morelie?"

"I have a gift for you"

"A gift?"

"Yes... "

Morelie hands a box to Alex

"What is this?"

Alex opens the box

"It is a stuffed animal"

"A stuffed animal...?"

"Oh! It is not literally a stuffed animal! It is made of cotton and filled with more cotton" 

"Oh... Thank you Morelie"

"Your welcome Alex"

Then people waited until it was 12 PM. And they started giving presents to each other. Ashthier gave Amelie a bracelet, Amelie gave her a book that she always wanted. Maxwell gave Amelie a necklace, it was locket and inside was their picture. 

"That is very kind of you Maxwell" said Amelie

"It is for my precious Amelie"

Maxwell kisses Amelie's hand

After the party

"Maxwell we have to go home!" shouted Jacques

"I am coming!" 

"Goodbye Maxwell"

"Goodbye Amelie"

Then Maxwell and Jacques left.

"Farewell Alex!"

"Bye Morelie!"

"I enjoyed this christmas eve with you"

Then soon Morelie left together with Ranier and Deziree

"Ashthier"

"Yes Amelie?"

"From now on I will spend more and more time with Maxwell"

"That is good"

"How about you Alex?"

"Well Ashthier..."

"Yes Alex?"

"Nothing..."

Ashthier left after an hour. Amelie and Alex slept both smiling since they spent their christmas with the people they love.

And so after christmas it was new year. Amelie and Alex invited again their friends over and celebrated but Morelie did not come. Alex has not seen Morelie for quiet some time and was worried, then she received a letter.

Dear Alex,

  I know that we have spent so much time together last year, but I realized that recently we have not spoke to each other. I do not know what to do or what I should have done, but I think that it is best if we stop our relationship. I heard from Amelie that you have not been well. I worry about you but you would not talk to me... I am sorry if you are sad while you are reading this letter but ...I really just... I did not come to the celebration of new year because I am busy with family matters and I am still in the middle of figuring out what I will do. Alex... I am really sorry, I think you feel the same way. The last time we met was the day after the christmas party, and during that time we did not talk that much. We can still be friends, I am really sorry... Please send back a reply... I will be waiting for it

"Alex... are you ok?" asked Amelie

"You know what, I feel fine" 

"But Alex..." said Ashthier for she felt really concerned

"It's true! I feel fine. He is right, I did feel it too. We lost that spark, I dont know what happened but... I guess it did not work out"

"You know, there are a lot of people out there that will surely be the right one for you" said Amelie

"Morelie is stupid" said Jacques suddenly

Then Jacques went near

"He just wasted the precious time of a woman" said Jacques then he left and drank wine

"I'll go write a letter to Morelie" said Alex

"We will be right here waiting for you Alex" said Amelie

While Alex was writing her letter to Morelie, she did not cry. She then thought of Jacques, why would he suddenly say that out of the blue. After writing her letter she spent her New years with Amelie. Amelie was happy to see that everyone is happy and with her during another special day.
