Chapter 9

"Today is..." said Amelie to herself "My birthday"

Amelie stood up from her bed and stared at her reflection in the mirror "March 6, my birthday...." she paused for a while then she took her bath and changed her clothes and went down. "Time sure flies right Amelie?" said the voice of a woman. When Amelie turned around it was Ashthier "You shocked me!" shouted Amelie "Happy Birthday Amelie" said Ashthier with a big smile on her face. They had breakfast and of course Ashthiers' dog was there in the garden "Do you necessarily need to bring Blayze here?" asked Amelie "I like Blayze. You know I like dogs" replied Ashthier.

"Mademoiselle Gravois?" "Yes maid?" "You have visitors" "Let them in"

"Happy Birthday Amelie!!!" shouted Ranier "Thank you" "Happy Birthday Amelie" said Deziree "Thank you" "We should have a party" said Ranier "Do you not think that it is quite late to plan it now" said Ashthier "No! We will invite Amelie's close friends and by a cake in the near bake shop" said Ranier "If we are going to have a party, where will it be Ranier?" 

Ranier looked at Amelie "Can we have it here?" "Why not" replied Amelie "Good... you have a location and plans, why don't you start moving then Ranier" said Ashthier. Ranier stood up and pulled Deziree with him "You will help me" said Ranier to Deziree "What? Why?" they both went out of Amelie's house. "There is one thing that they missed" said Ashthier. Amelie knew what it was and they both said it at the same time "What time is it"

"Okay Deziree we have to find a bake shop that is open and has an available cake" "How about Amelie's favorite bake shop?" said Deziree "Mademoiselle Patisserie?" "Yes Ranier,Mademoiselle Patisserie" 

They both went there as fast as they can. As they open the door, they ran to the counter and talked to the lady in the shop "Do have any available cake today?" asked Deziree "Yes we do" said the lady "Can we see it?" asked Ranier "Yes of course" the lady took the cake and showed it to them "That looks good" said Ranier "We will take it" said Deziree "That will be $75." They both shared the payment and went off to buy the gifts.

"I will go here" said Deziree. They both splitted up to buy their gifts for Amelie.

As Deziree was walking in the street after she bought her gift she bumped into Maxwell and he was with Jacques. "You are back" said Deziree "Yes I am" said Jacques "What is that for?" asked Maxwell "Oh! It is Amelie's birthday today" said Deziree "Would you like to come to her party?" "It will be an honor" said Maxwell, but Jacques was quiet, "Sure, I will come too" "Thanks" "What time will it start?" asked Maxwell "Uhm... After lunch" said Deziree "It is in Amelie's house" Deziree left and Maxwell and Jacques was left. 

Ranier on the other hand, struggled to find the perfect gift for his friend. He bumped into Helina "Oh! Hello Ranier" she greeted "Helina!" "What are you doing here?" she asked "I am lookign for a gift for Amelie, it is her birthday today" Helina smiled "Hey, why don't you come? Do not worry its just me, Deziree, Amelie, Ashthier, and... well people that we are going to invite" said Ranier. Helina thought about it for a while then she answered "I will come, where will it be?" "At House of the Gravois" said Ranier "Thank you for inviting me" she said while smiling, her blue eyes were inviting as well as her long hair that is color light brown. "I will help you buy a gift, I will buy her one too" said Helina. They both went off in search of the perfect gift for Amelie.

Before Maxwell and Jacques bumped into Deziree

In the meeting of the Bouviers

"Welcome back Jacques!" said the head of the Bouvier family "How was your trip?" "My trip went well grandfather" Jacques had a new look but he was still the same Jacques. The door opened and Maxwell entered "Jacques... You..," "Yes dear, he is back from the military" said Maxwell's mother "Will you return son?" asked Jacques father "No... The King told me to rest, I did too much he said" "So you will stay here for good?" asked Maxwell "For now... Yes" said Jacques. 

"Maxwell!" said the head "Yes grandfather?" "Take your cousin out, he deserves to see how France improved since his help in the army" said their grandfather. Maxwell took Jacques out. 

"Why were you late?" said Jacques "I wrote letters" "Letters for who?" asked Jacques "For Amelie" Jacques paused for a while as they walked. 

"You still owe me for those flowers and chocolates you gave her" Jacques said with a smile "I owe you nothing" said Maxwell. "It is..." Jacques cutted Maxwell "Her birthday" said Jacques while looking up. They bumped into Deziree, and right after they were invited to the party.

"I have to go back to the house" said Jacques "Let us go back then" said Maxwell. 

Jacques never came out of his room. While Maxwell bought a rose for Amelie.

In the House of the Gravois

"Amelie you look so beautiful" said Ashthier "You do not look bad yourself, Ashthier" they hugged each other. Then Ashthier said "Are you ready?" Amelie nodded. They went down stairs and everybody sang Happy Birthday. Amelie smiled and the cake went out. "Blow the candle Amelie" said Ranier. After Amelie blew the candle, it was time to eat. 

Maxwell gave his letters to Amelie, he also gave the rose. Jacques on the other hand, stayed with his friends, Morelie,Bernard, and Devardo. Jacques invited to come. 

"Thank you Maxwell" then Amelie hugged Maxwell. Jacques twitched and tried ignoring it. The gifts were placed on a table. While the others were busy talking and dancing. Jacques went near the gift table and placed a letter that said Amelie in the front. 

"You are back" said Amelie "Yes I am" said Jacques "Where were you?" asked Amelie "I was in the army, my friends here quitted after the first day, but I stayed" "Thank you for coming monsieur" "It was no problem Mademoiselle Gravois" then they parted ways.

"Thank you so much Ranier and Deziree, for this wonderful birthday party" Amelie smiled and continued entertaining her guest.  The guest were:

All the guest were gone, and Amelie had opened her gifts except for the letters she received. She read Maxwell's letter, she smiled as she sat on her bed. After reading Maxwell's letter she opened the other letter. She did not know who gave it but she read it. She smiled after reading it, before she slept she told herself.

"Thank you... All my friends" 

Then she slept with a smile on her face.
