Chapter 5

"Mademoiselle Gravois there is someone here to see you!" shouted the maid "Who is it?" "It's a man" Amelie went to check you it was and saw Jacques. "Where have you been?" asked Amelie "Can I stay here for now?" "Sure... What happened?" asked Amelie "Nothing... I just wanted to see you" said Jacques. He sat on the chair and was silent. Amelie went to the study to read a book, then she heard Jacques talking to himself then he suddenly laughed. "What is wrong with you? You keep talking to yourself" asked Amelie in a very irritated tone "Why are you mad at me? It is how I am?" said Jacques "Well... Keep quiet I am trying to read here" said Amelie "Do not leave. Read it here" said Jacques as he held Amelie's hand. So Amelie stayed there with Jacques. "Do you know Valeraine?" "Valeraine  Fortescue. Yes I do, Why?" "I met her early, she seems really nice. I like her" said Jacques "You like her?" asked Amelie "Well, yes, what is not to like with such happy person, and with beauty too" Amelie stood up and shouted "Get out!" "What? Why?" "LEAVE!!! NOW!!!" shouted Amelie as tears were falling from her eyes. Jacques was shocked and he went out of her house and went off. Amelie went to the study and wrote a letter: 

Dear Ashthier,

          Come here to my home immediately I want to talk to you. It is urgent! Ashthier...

"Take this to Ashthier Devereux immediately!" said Amelie to the messenger boy. The boy ran as fast as he can and went to the Devereux household "A letter to Mademoiselle Ashthier Devereux" then Ashthier grabbed her coat and went to Amelie immediately. Amelie heard the carriage pull up in front of her house. "Where is she?" asked Ashthier "Up in her room mademoiselle" answered the maid. "Amelie? What seems to be the problem?" "Jacques... He likes someone else!" then Amelie stood up from her bed then sat down "Jacques? Well... He likes someone but that does not mean that he loves that someone else right?" "You are right... But still! Whatever happened to loving me and only me?" "Ah... You said love not like" said Ashthier to Amelie "Maid! If monsieur Jacques comes here tell him to come in" "You over reacted Amelie" "Sorry Ashthier" "Forgive him...Or better yet apologize" then Ashthier bid farewell and left. 

The following day:

"Is she home?" asked Jacques "Please Monsieur come in" said the maid. Jacques waited patiently, then Amelie went down. "I am sorry Amelie! For whatever I did or say" "You do not have to apologize, I am the one that over reacted" "Well... What now?" asked Jacques, there was silence. Then Amelie said "I will let this slip. Do not worry Jacques, I am not mad at you anymore" then Jacques kissed Amelie's hand and went off. "Mademoiselle Gravois, there is a letter from your tante and oncle" said the maid. Amelie was shocked because her aunt and uncle has never contacted her ever since the tragic wedding. Amelie took the letter and read it, it said:

Dear Amelie,

        Me and your oncle know that we have not recently contacted you, it is because we are on a business trip to Monaco and we are not able to write you letters. Next week monday, your oncle and I will come and visit you. I want you to plan us a party, it is for the arrival of Monseiur Hillario and his son, Thaison, and his sister , Marie. They are planning to buy an estate here in Monaco, and they wanted to meet you, the heiress. We know that you can manage your time well, and if you do not commit a mistake we will show you the will and testament of you father, and you can fully claim all the inheritance. If you fail... Well you will have to be an heiress for 8 more years. Goodluck Amelie.
