(I have noticed a pattern of Mizuki falling for guys with short names. Aku...and Ike. Also this chapter talks about more sensitive topics such as self harm and suicidal thoughts. I myself have struggled with them before, and if anyone is struggling out there please just know that your are worth something! I promise that someone out there loves you. Also the ideas about sexism and how women are treated is not my actual opinion, it's told in the mindset of a character living in a different time. Enjoy!)

Mizuki woke up in a large and empty building, some kind of humming could be heard in the distance. Harmony... That was what the humming made her think of.

"I don't feel comfortable doing this Ike (Her old fiancés name). Your mine, not hers" A woman was talking quietly but with anger in her tone. Mizuki knew her manners and that it was not nice to listen in when people are talking. It was obvious that the 2 wanted privacy. But then why had Mizuki woken up here? And who was humming in the hallway? Then she heard footsteps.

"Rise and shine princess~" Her fiancé said in a soothing and seducing voice. Tomato Mizuki was back!

Ike took Mizuki to a waiting room where Marnie was sitting and writing a letter to someone.

"Who's that for?" Mizuki asked.

"My slaying pals! Their names are Darling and citrus! Quite unique, huh?" Marnie giggled.

Mizuki tried to relax her nerves, she was safe here. She was so used to having her guard up but there seemed to be no need. This was her old village and no one was attacking her so she figured everything was fine. Soon someone came for Marnie.

"It's time for your training" and they took her away.

Now Mizuki and her fiancé were alone together. She felt, or more accurately wanted to feel, that overwhelming love she felt for him when they first met, but now that flame for him seemed to be burning for someone else. Anytime she tried to recreate 'that love' again she'd see a different man's face in her mind. No! no! no! Why am I even thinking about love? I'm a monster, I should just accept i will probably never marry! The hateful thoughts in Mizuki's mind were coming back.

"Mizuki. We've both been exposed to lots of death over the past few years. Like you I lost my whole family and all my hopes seemed to be fading away. Have you ever thought of...killing yourself?" Ike's face was emotionless.

All the time. It kept Mizuki up at night, those thoughts. Every-time she tried to reason with the bad thoughts they'd always remind her of all the pain she had been through...and all the pain yet to come. Why not just regenerate and live as a human? Or cease to exist in the first place? Mizuki would find herself pulling her hair and scraping her body all night long. She scratched herself a lot, because in her mind the only way to atone for eating Hanna was to suffer. To suffer until she felt that Hanna's spirit had been released. But she was a lady, not a savage around men.

"Gosh no! Have you? That's terrible I'm so sorry..." Be polite, be shy, be kind. She learned how to talk to men.

"Many times. Have you ever accepted death?" Ike didn't show emotion still.

Mizuki nodded. "I feel as though most of us have in this hopeless situation." She said.

Ike moved towards her, she began to blush once more. He cuddled up to her and started kissing her cheek. Mizuki felt like she should want this, like she should enjoy it! But no, she felt violated. She felt like this wasn't right. Yes she was technically still engaged to him, but it had been years and he barely knew her now.

"P- please...stop...." She whined. It would not be a pretty sight if you walked in then.

Ike didn't listen and as he was continuing to kiss her, he got his blade ready. Ever since he was a child he had been training to become a demon slayer. His skill was better in knives rather than swords so his 'nichirin sword (sorry if I spelled that wrong)' was designed to look like a mere kitchen knife. He had worked all his life to become a Kanoto (one of the lower ranks) and he knew that Mizuki would probably pay well. The only reason he had ever been attracted to her when they were humans was because of her body, so he never knew her.
