"Your Natsumi, correct? Hello! I'm Fumiko, and I believe that this letter was also directed to you." The small brunette handed her the paper folded in half.
It was the note that Mizuki had written to them right before she ran away. Natsumi's eyes began to fill with silver tears as she read the words on it. She handed the letter back to Fumiko and she stared into the empty gray sky.
"My ribs probably would have just broken into pieces if she didn't interfere. She let a demon go, but she saved a human's life." Natsumi said.
Fumiko later had drained all memory of Mizuki and Emi in order to 'heal' herself. She stopped caring about all the details and became cold, sour, and plain. She was turning more into Obanai as each day passed. She was also mean to the servants.
"She's definitely not that cute little girl we saw training with Obanai anymore!" One of the servants said.
Fumiko's stare used to make people feel happy, but now it only made them feel intimidated or scared. Even Obanai himself was sort of worried about her, she was going down the same path he did. Of course he'd never show kind emotions to Fumiko though.
That was what she wanted in the end. She wanted him to feel like he could open up to her and she wanted his praise in her doing well in training. It was too late now. Fumiko wasn't who she used to be...
She was walking by the mirror in her bathroom one night and she stopped. She took a good look at who she was...and she despised it. From an early age members of her family like Mizuki or Emi that happened to be demons were taken by the Hashira so Fumiko despised Hashira.
Well she had become the thing she hated most. Not a Hashira in rank, but she had the behavior down...it disgusted her. She cried all night for the next few days. Fumiko was breaking.
Meanwhile, Inigo had taken Mizuki to a small house somewhere deep in the forest far from all villages. The house was on a hill, and it looked like a house built by someone foreign. The house was actually in pretty good shape. They attacked the owner didn't they... Mizuki thought to herself. (look to the top of the chapter to see the houses exterior)
"Where did you find such a place?" Mizuki turned to the spider demon.
"Found it...? I didn't find it, my friend Kazane randomly broke into it one day and-" Inigo stopped.
She had to keep reminding herself that Mizuki was on a non human diet, she was a resister. She was a 'good demon' or whatever the humans wanted to call it. Inigo had separated herself from most humans for so long but Mizuki acted just like them!
"You act...different..." Inigo said. She was having a bit of an inner battle with herself right now.
"Oh really? I'm sorry if that's weird. I just sort of do what comes to mind" Mizuki replied.
They walked inside and shoved the snow out of the way, inside it was an absolute mess! Blood on the walls and floors, human bodies just scattered around (and they looked and smelled like they had just been eaten), and no clean furniture in sight.
"Did you two eat without me?" Inigo asked, aggravated.
A demon with messy black hair came crawling out of a weird nook in the corner of the room. He had a tattered outfit and 2 extra pairs of arms stuck out of his back. He sucked them back into him and he went up the stairs to fetch the second demon.
He came back down with a demon that had four eyes and weird orange hair. The demon's skin was blue and there were blue-ish spots on her arms. Mizuki felt like she had seen this demon before, but she couldn't wrap her finger around it.
