Malia's Pov

Now, while the aliens and I managed to have some fun, I actually had to get some practice in.

Especially the triple hip-hop double tuck lindy.

Thankfully, the aliens were more than happy to help me. Especially catch me just in case I were to mess up.

I really don't want to fall or get hurt. Especially before the big day, which is tomorrow.

Finally after a long while of practicing I felt that I finally was ready. I'm confident that I've gotten the hang of this move.

I smiled and thanked all the aliens for their help before walking towards the bench.

Once I sat down I immediately took out my water bottle and began chugging on it. I was so damn thirsty the entire time.

I sighed in sweet relief before removing the bottle from my mouth. I closed it before setting it aside.

I took my phone out and opened it up. I had one message and when I clicked on it, I saw that it was from Addison.

Zed's interview finished. It was hard at first but he nailed it at the end. We're heading off to get pizza with the others, are you gonna come?

A smile appeared on my face before texting her saying that I'll join them in a few minutes.

I'll just wrap up here before changing and meeting up with them.

I hope that when I get there, Wyatt will have calmed down and we can talk and work things out. I really want him to understand that I love him and only him, that I have no romantic feelings for A-lan.

"Are you alright?" A-lan suddenly appeared beside me.

I let out a small yelp and turned around to see A-lan smiling at me.

I sighed, placing a hand on my chest, before nodding my head as I placed my phone into my pocket.

"Yeah, everything's fine. And you?" I asked.

"I am quite alright, thank you for asking" A-lan smiled.

I chuckled softly and shook my head.

I turned to the other aliens and smiled when I saw them either talking to each other or goofing off, just having a great time.

"You guys seem to be having lots of fun. And you're all so comfortable with each other. It warms my heart" I smiled.

"Yes. We have always been comfortable with each other. We are not just friends, we are family" A-lan softly smiled.

That warmed my heart even more.

They all are family. Not just friends, family.

"However, if you must know, I actually had a family. My parents" A-lan suddenly spoke up.

I turned to him with furrowed eyebrows.

"Really?" I asked.

"Oh, yes. In fact we all did" A-lan said.

"Wait, really?" I asked.

"Yes. Unfortunately, they did not survive when our planet was destroyed" A-lan sighed, looking down.

My eyes widened and I felt my heart sink down to my stomach.

Oh god...did I just bring up something too personal?

Great. Way to go, Malia.

"Oh, A-lan, I'm so sorry" I softly said.

"No worries. We are used to it. Well, not entirely, but we are trying" A-lan said.
