Chapter Twenty-One: Singing & Comfort

Malia's Pov

I didn't want to be left alone. At least not now.

And I didn't want to leave Zed alone. I know that out of everyone, especially me, he's taking it the hardest.

He had to say goodbye to his girlfriend, his best friend, the love of his life, the girl that he was ready to spend the rest of his life with.

Elena luckily understood and didn't mind me wanting to stay with Zed.

Not only that, but she offered to stay with us. 

She may not know Zed that well, but she understands that what he's going through isn't something easy.

So, here we are, outside of Zed's house. Standing in front of his front door.

Zed was leaning against the railing of the stairs, staring up at the sky.

Zoey was with us, she was sitting on the stairs of the house.

Elena stood behind me, her arms wrapped around me, her chin resting on my shoulder.

I didn't mind. I found it comforting. I rested my hands on top of hers, leaning my back against her chest.

I had to ignore the confused look from Zed as well as the teasing look from Zoey.

Addison must've told Zed her observations, which could understand why he's been staring at us in confusion all day.

If he has any questions, I might as well answer them and just get them over with.

Even if I won't have all the answers.

But, for right now, we're just thinking about how things will be different now that Addison has left.

Mr. Necrodopolis understood that we all needed time to process everything and let us stay out for as long as we needed to.

But he did remind us that we had to get to bed early. So, he just reminded us not to stay up too late.

We were all staring up at the sky, each lost in our own thoughts.

But one things for sure is that we're all wondering what Addison and the aliens could be doing right now.

Nobody's Pov

(Zed)
I know it might be crazy
But did you hear the story

(Zoey)
I think I heard it vaguely

(Zed, Malia & Elena)
A girl and a zombie

The scene switches to Eliza at her internship.

(Eliza)
Oh tell me more, boy
Sounds like a fantasy

The scene switches to Bree and Bonzo, who are sitting outside, their hands clasped together with their fingers interwined.

(Bree)
What could be so wrong with a girl and a zombie?

She sniffled and Bonzo wrapped his arm around her shoulders, comforting his girlfriend.

The scene switches to Wynter, Willa and Wyatt. They're all by the campfire.

Wynter and Willa are sitting next to each other while Wyatt is standing, leaning his back against a pole.

(Willa)
You're from the perfect paradise
And I'm living on the other side

(Wynter)
