Wang Zhoucheng's POV

I've always known that there was something fishy when it came to the Xiao family, perhaps it was the way they talked or how they acted, but their aura felt . . . Uncomfortable.

It wasn't something I could just pinpoint; it was just a gut feeling, and here I was right now, hacking the system of the most famous family of China, the Xiao family.

Even though they're no ordinary family, it was more or less like a suicidal mission; if they would find out.-

"They won't find out you're the one doing this, don't frown so much." I looked up glaring, at Lily, who acted as if she just read my thoughts, not that it would surprise me if she could; she was kinda scary in her own way.

I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath while remembering how I even ended up here in the first place.

"We need your help." Lily stared at me, her eyes dark, as a luring hunter waiting for their prey.

"Why is she even sitting here free?" I turned my head to Jiyang and Xuan Lu; one shrugged, and the other one smiled at me.

"Zhoucheng ge, please just listen, Lily might be . . . harmful . . . But she has her own intentions." I sipped my coffee, letting my eyes wander between Xuan Lu and Lily.

"I have no time to be a reckless person, you can say and think whatever you want about me, but I always have my own reasons for doing the things I do," Lily said, flipping her hair to her back while she held my gaze, strongly.

I sighed, "you know, don't even tell me why I am going to do what I am going to do for you, tell me what I need to do, and I will." Lily smiled, stretching her hand out to me.

For once, without hesitation, I took it, her hand was ice-cold but soft, and her gaze was firm just like the handshake; I knew they would eventually tell me why so I did not worry about it; I trusted Xuan Lu.

When I opened my eyes, I quickly continued to do my work and copied and pasted the photos while Lily was spacing around in the back holding her phone.

*Ring ring*

Suddenly a ring disturbed my work, and I turned around to face Lily, "didn't I block your number." I stifled back a laugh just as Xuan Lu and Jiyang listened to Lily's conversation.

"Depends if you're the reason the kid is crying . . ." Jiyang hid his laugh behind his hand while Xuan Lu winked at me, and I turned around back to my work, not even wanting to know what was happening.

"I never felt safe around Zhan's family, they felt toxic and wrong in some way that I couldn't point out, and it doesn't surprise me they forced Zhan to marry, but not even telling him . . ." Jiyang muttered while I nodded my head, quickly finishing my task before turning around to them.

"They have this atmosphere making you uncomfortable around them, and Zhan doesn't deserve this, so that's my only reason to help you all," I said, and Lily looked at me, her head slightly oblique with a mysterious smile playing around her lips.

"Is everything settled?" Xuan Lu came in between, looking at me.

"If it's right, Haoxuan has got some cops together and is waiting for everything to start." Lily smiled darkly, a smile that made me shiver in fear, lucky that I was on her side.

"Let them taste their own poison, isn't it? If they weren't so greedy for money, this all wouldn't have ended like this." Lily sighed while sitting down on the grass, ruffling through her hair.

"Since we still have time left, I want to tell you all the full story of what happened that night from my perspective if you all want, of course," Lily said, for once looking preferably . . . Unsure?

I nodded and glanced at the other two who nodded to, so it meant I wasn't the only one who didn't know the whole story, Haoxuan did because Lily had told him before we left, but Haoxuan didn't want to say a word to me about what lily said to him, saying to me that she would tell me when the time is there.

"So, that night it was cold and freezing, a cold winter night, as usual, we; Yibo, Qihe, Eliwa, and I sat at the bonfire warmly while our parents were upstairs, we had been drinking warm chocolate milk and laughing together about silly memories. When the night dawned upon the house, a real nightmare started, but we didn't know it, of course, so Eliwa and Qihe left with their parents; Yibo stayed overnight with his and my parents. Actually, Yibo and I would share a room, and we did, but after he fell asleep, I got scared since I assumed I had heard something, so I stood up, tiptoeing to my parent's room, where the window was widely opened, and the rain was rushing into the room, from that moment on I knew something was really wrong. So I walked to my parent's bed, wanting to lay between them when I felt something sticky; at first, I assumed it was rain, I was young-" Lily stopped, tears running down her porcelain white cheeks while she closed her eyes.

Jiyang slowly took place next to her, hugging her safely while placing a kiss on her hair, and we all waited for her, in total silence, to continue.

"So, I felt the substance running in between my body, and it was too thick to be water, so I shook my dad and mom, only to realize they weren't breathing, and that was when I jumped out of their bed, the moon reflecting on my clothes that were drenched in blood. I heard footsteps in the hallway, so I quickly took a coat to put over myself before grabbing the lamp to be able to protect myself when the door slowly opened, the moon falling on Yibo's scared face. Before I realized what had happened, I had taken Yibo's arm, pushing him towards the window, placing a finger on his lips to tell him to be quiet. He did what I said, and I motioned for him to climb out of the window since that was what we had done often with the rest when we were younger, so Yibo, without hesitation, did what I asked him." Lily took a deep breath.

She opened her eyes, looking one for one at us, and I tried to keep my face straight, but I saw the hurt reflecting in her eyes when that assassination happened she was probably not even 12 . . .

"When I was about to climb too, I heard quick footsteps coming closer; I knew they were coming for Yibo and me, so I climbed as fast as I could, and hid behind the big oak tree, and I saw a face, one that I would remember forever since it was engraved inside my memory, mister Xiao who smirked, looking out of the window before closing it. When I saw that happening, the pieces fell together for me because I remember miss and mister Xiao being very suspicious and weirdly acting when I was together with Zhan, and when I was about to break down, Yibo grabbed my hand and quickly led me away. It was cold with the wind touching my bare skin, but we ran and ran, towards Qihe's house without our own conscious, we didn't speak, we just did what our intuition told us, but when we arrived we were late . . . Too late. The house was set on fire, flames jumping everywhere, and what happened after was all a daze to me . . ." Lily placed her head on Jiyang's shoulder while both Xuan Lu and I switched a glance at her.

I was curious as to what happened to Qihe and Eliwa but didn't ask, the time would tell, as Haoxuan said, and that was when the music started, and we all turned around.

The fun was going to start, and I saw how Lily wiped away her tears, lifting her chin while breathing deeply.

She was Lily, princess of assassins, a former princess, a survivor who fought . . .

We're coming closer to an end, btw I have left a small clue in the chapter about what Qihe and Eliwa's silly plan is~

Wanna guess it???

Hahahaha~

It was a longer chapter than usual since I wanted to tell about Lily's side of that night, I guess it's more clear now what happened, Eliwa and Qihe's side will be told later and Zhan's side will be a bit more clear later on too.

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day/night!!
