Perrie's POV

Steve had as always fast arrived and picked the blonde pop star up.

Perrie had entered the back of the car and apologized for calling him that late. He reassured her it was okay and they were on their way back to the hotel.

Steve was a tall 30 year old American. He was their driver for the duration of their stay at America along with two more of his colleagues. But Steve was the one who was doing the most rides he could, especially the very early or late ones. His two partners were newly fathers and he was trying to give them as much space as he could.

When the girls heard that, they liked him even more, and when they saw how good and professional he is, they adored him. Steve was discreet he didn't talk to anyone and he always seem to have their back. During all the interviews and encounters with fans and paparazzi he always protected them, acting as a bodyguard at times, and they appreciated that.

"I was expecting you to spend the night." Steve looked her through the mirror.

"Yeah, that was the plan but the girls need me."

"We'll arrive as fast as possible." he reassured her.

Perrie smiled, they always did.

"How's the wife, Steve?"

"She has another test this week. So she's studying all day and all night. Thankfully we're at the senior year and she'll get some rest after graduating."

"I don't know, Steve. Do lawyers ever rest?"

"I don't know either but I hope the spouses of the lawyers do at least."

Perrie chuckled. Steve always spoke about his wife with such an adoration, he was so proud when he told the girls that she was at her final year of law school this year. And now it was July and the woman was working so hard to be on top of her game her last year.

"Will I have to deal with your new boy or has he been good?" Steve smirked at her.

"He's been good. Excellent even, that night was rough though, everything was rough.

Thank you for having my back." she had wanted to thank him for a while now. "That night might be the only time that I've actually misjudged a bad situation. Thankfully, we fixed everything." She smiled to herself. "I regret to inform you Steve, we'll be going back and forth to his house very very often from now on."

Perrie saw the driver smile from the mirror.

Soon they were at the hotel. Perrie stopped for a couple of minutes to say hi to some of the fans that were camped outside and she quickly headed towards Jade room.

She didn't even knock. She just barged in to find a worried Leigh looking at Jade. Jade, who was just looking at the wall with a blank expression.

"I'm here. What happened?"

"She told me Jed passed by here, and he told her that this distance was too much and he wanted to break up."

Perrie sat on the bed next to Jade. She looked at Leigh-Anne again silently asking if Jade was okay. A shrug was the older girl's only response.

"Bubba, how are you feeling?" She asked as sweetly as she could.

"It's okay, it hurts now but I'll deal with it, it'll pass." Perrie and Leigh- Anne shared a quick glance at each other.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Perrie tried again.

"No."

"It's okay if you're hurting, babe." Leigh tried "you love him, it's natural."
