Chapter 9: Fear of Rejection

Maddox's POV:

I saw fear in her eyes along with confusion. This made me freeze me in my place. She feared me. My wolf whimpered at this thought. I slowly moved towards her but I feel hurt when I saw her moving backward. So I told her that I will answer whatever she want to know. I still hadn't prepared myself about her reaction after she wake up and see me.

So now I guess I am stuck with my own stupid self. She is definitely going to reject me because she feared me and its all because of the reputation I have in front of whole werewolf world. But if she will reject me. I will still keep her near me in this pack and maybe ask for a chance.

"Shut the hell up! You stupid piece of shit. Help me Moon Goddess how can I get stuck with the dumbest human alive." Blake growled through our link. Well he hated the fact that I am over thinking. "You're going to talk to her or may be I should talk to her by myself now decide quickly" Blake once again growled at me.

"Okay I am going to talk to her so just shut up and calm down" I growled back at him. I now look at my mate she is lost in deep thought. So I walked towards her. After standing near her I hold her hand and she also came out of her thoughts and is now looking at me shock written all over her face. I guess she can also feel sparks on our physical contact even without her wolf.

"You can also feel the sparks don't you". I asked her to confirm myself. "What are they for ?" my mate asked me in her Angelic voice.

"You know when two soul mate met each other they feel these amazing sparks that you are feeling right now". I told her softly, hoping she would understand what I am trying to say. I am not good at having conversations so it is going to be hard for me to have conversation with her.

"So you are saying we are mates". Oh thanks moon goddess she understand."Yeah we are mates" I replied softly. Out of nowhere she start sobbing. "It will be okay I will understand if you are going to reject me right now. Please do it quickly". The words coming out of her mouth stabbed me in heart. She thinks I'm going to reject her. Why would I reject her after waiting so long for her. She is looking toward her hand which I am holding and tears flowing down her cheeks make the things worse for me. It hurts me to see her tears.

I kneel down on the floor and held her chin to look towards me." Listen to me carefully. Stop thinking what ever you are thinking about. I am not going to reject you and never will I promise. Just trust me and give me a chance. Give us a chance". I told her softly putting all my care for her in my words.

"Umm okay I will give it a chance, but why are you choosing me out of all these girls out there, I am a weak pathetic girl, I am not beautiful and good like others. I am just an omega and why you Alpha Maddox would want me for". Hearing her words I feel sadness inside me. But I covered it quickly with smile on my lip.

"You are not pathetic and weak. You are not an omega. You're my mate, my Luna and you are the strongest girl I ever met. And I Alpha Maddox only want you as my mate, no one else."hearing my words I saw a beautiful smile formed on my mates face.

"You don't even know my name and want me to be your mate" my mate said while smiling brightly. Now I feel stupid for not asking her name earlier.

"So tell me beautiful name of yours" she blushed when I said beautiful and move her eyes away from my face towards her lap. I am quite amused by her action. I am still holding her chin.

"My name is Hazel Grace Wood and I am 18". My mate said softly looking back towards me. Her name is so beautiful just like her. I tried her name "Hazel" and I saw my mate blushing furiously. Wait a minute she said Hazel Grace Wood. Why the hell she have Wood's family surname or may be I misheard. But I should ask her directly.

"Hazel did you just said Wood's your surname."I asked her carefully. "Yes, I am from Wood's family." she said that after taking a deep breathe and at the end. The look on her face told me, she is going to tell me something that I am not going to like.

"I am Alpha Jack Daniels daughter" my eyes went wide on her reveal about her family. She is daughter of that piece of shit but how, I think he have only one daughter and one son. So how is Hazel his daughter but then realization hit me she have same hairs as Jack.

I came out of my thoughts when I heard her voice again. "My father chose a mate for himself before meeting his real mate, my Mother. He already had son when he met my mother and had my sister before me." So that is the story that I didn't know about. Infact no one knows about this whole story.

"Then why he treated you like this" I feel her getting uncomfortable with this question
So I decide to ask her about it some other time and for now changed the topic. "Hazel you must be hungry why don't I grab some food for you until you freshen up yourself" Now she looked down towards her clothes and realized that they are not hers "Why I am wearing your clothes". She asked me with confused look on her face. I guess I am doomed now.

"I changed your clothes after Julie bandaged your wounds."I was not holding her chin and kneeling down in front of her anymore. I stand up at the corner of bed and was about to leave the room and bring her food. But then her statement stopped me at my place.

" Umm thanks". Why she is thanking me instead of scolding and shouting at me like any other girl. Is this supposed to happen like that. She once again asked me with hesitation in voice,"Can you help me to the bathroom". "Off course Sweetheart you don't need to ask me any thing just order me around. This Alpha is all yours". I said the last part with a slight chuckle and move towards her. I picked her up carefully without hurting her. She have a soft smile on her face same as one on my lips.

After entering in bathroom I placed her down as she told me and after telling her if she need any other help just call me. I came outside in room and stand near bathroom door.
