Love again- Charlie swan (rewrite)

Chapter 2

As Anastasia drove towards the swan house she began to get a little nervous, her control around humans was quite good and she had not ever tasted the blood of a human but she was always afraid that she would slip up one day and hurt someone, each day she prayed that it wasn't that day but turning the corner to the swan house made her pray even more that today was not that day as she could not bare to hurt Bella the woman her son would grow to love nor would she ever forgive herself for harming Charlie.

As she sat in front of the house she smiled slightly, the house was smaller than the one she lived in with her family but it was small enough that she loved the way it was.

As she stepped out of the car she grabbed another tray and smiled as she stepped up to the door and knocked gently humming softly as Bella opened the door frowning slightly as she did "miss cullen" she mumbled still looking slightly confused
She smiled at her "good evening Bella I brought cookies" she smiled as she held out the tray as Charlie came to the door and looked at him
"Bella let Anastasia in" he mumbled as he grabbed the tray from her and guided them both into the kitchen.

She hummed softly as she looked around "your home is beautiful" she whispered softly as she looked up at him
"Thanks" he mumbled as he opened the fridge and grabbed himself a beer "would you like one" he whispered making her shake her head "no thank you, I don't drink" she smiled at him as she leaned against the counter

She watched as Bella walked into the living room and hummed softly as she looked at Charlie "may I ask you something" he mumbled
She smiled and nodded "of course" she whispered
"Why did you adopt teenagers and not find someone to have children with" he whispered

She froze for a second before she looked at him "I'm not able to have children of my own and when I met Jasper and Emmett I knew they needed a home so I adopted them, I was going to adopt Rose too but carlisle beat me to it" she mumbled as she leaned back and smiled softly though through the smile he could see the pain in her eyes
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked" he mumbled.

She shook her head "it's fine" she smiled softly as she hummed and started to plate up the food she had made "Bella dinner" she smiled as she placed two plates onto the table and then started to clean up the kitchen. When a hand wrapped around her wrist and froze feeling tingles go from her wrist and snaked their way all the way up her arm.

She slowly looked up at Charlie who happened to be looking down at her "stop cleaning and come and eat with us" he smiled a little
She looked at him for a second before she nodded and plated herself up some food before she sat at the table with them and smiled a little as she moved the food around her plate before she hummed and watched the awkward interaction between Bella and Charlie which made her giggle, "oh your both so awkward" she smiled at them as Charlie looked at her and smiled before shaking his head.

He frowned a little "is the food not okay love" he mumbled. She smiled a little "it has meat in it, I'm vegetarian" she mumbled but smiled at him "it's fine it slipped my mind what I'd put in it, I'll have some food when I get home" she smiled at him as she leaned back. He looked at her for a second before he nodded and they both watched Bella put her plate on the counter before she walked up the stairs.

She looked at him for a second "I feel like I've interrupted your night with your daughter" she whispered softly
He looked at her for a moment and shook his head "you didn't, Bella and I have a strained relationship, she doesn't even call me dad anymore it's just Charlie" he mumbled
She frowned a little before she stood up and wrapped her arms around him gently "I'm sorry" she mumbled "I know being a parent is hard but it's all still worth it to watch them become these amazing people, give her some time Charlie she's adjusting to being back here after being away for so long" she whispered softly as she grabbed her own plate off the table and walked into the kitchen as she started to clean the kitchen and wash all the dishes.

As Charlie watched the girl he couldn't help but be happy and thankful that she was here, he made the uncomfortableness of that dinner feel slightly more normal, as if he could picture her sat at every dinner for the foreseeable future which scared him, sure he had flings since his divorce with Renee but obviously none of them were ever permanent, but with this blonde haired beauty he could see a life time with her.

She hummed softly as she swayed around the kitchen as she cleaned and smiled as she turned her head and looked at him and tilted her head,

"You know it's not very nice to stare" she smiled as she leaned on the counter as she looked at him, she watched as he blushed a little which made her giggle softly.
He looked at her "I apologise I was just thinking" he smiled a little as he watched her eat some of the salad on the plate as her expression turned into one of confusion.

She looked down at the salad and blinked slightly as she ate more of it before she frowned but plastered on a smile for him "I am so sorry but I have to go" she whispered and rushed out of the house and into her car.

Charlie watched as her car sped down the road he knew he should have thought something to do with being an officer and her speeding should be breaking some law but after seeing the look on the blondes face when she left was one of confusion and he could even see that she was slightly scared which made him want to go and hold her and he didn't know why.

Anastasia raced to the house and jumped out of the car before she sped into the house and right to Carlisle who sat with his mate but when he looked at the face his sister had he jumped up and rushed to her "what's wrong Annie" he mumbled checking her over for any injuries
She blinked as she looked at him "I can taste human food" she whispered causing the vampires in the room to look at her in confusion
"Yeah so can we but it tastes like shit" Rosalie mumbled before she shook her head quickly "no Rosie I mean I ate a salad, I tasted a tomato for the first time in three hundred years and I do not feel like I need to throw it up" she whispered

The family of vampires looked at her in shock, many of them concerned about what was happening to her and why now all of a sudden she could taste human food, they looked at the person they knew as a sister, mother and aunt and were all suddenly scared at what this could mean for her.
