Chapter 10

Loosing a mate was by far the worst pain Anastasia Cullen had ever felt, she felt her heart rip in two the moment she felt Charlie die. But she could not sit in the woods and listen to her own heart breaking the only thing she could do was speed to the hospital. She needed to see him for herself, even if it meant it was the last time she saw her mate she needed it.

She knew that with her mate no longer around she would slowly turn into a shell of herself and at the moment she could blame no one for his death other than Bella.

As she stopped outside of the hospital she looked up at the sign as dread filled her, she looked towards the hospital doors and looked into the waiting room to see Billy, Jacob, Bella, Harry, the wolves who had only just gotten there also, Esmeand Edward all waiting. The other members of her family slowly trailing after her into her hospital

She tilted her head slightly as she slowly walked into the hospital making all heads turn to her, many looked at her with sorrow in their eyes. She froze slightly and stayed as still as she could until Billy grabbed her arm gently "I felt him die" she mumbled thankfully the only people that heard her was Billy, the wolves, her family and Edward.

Before any of them could say anything Carlisle walked out, as she looked at him her gaze hardened as she looked at the clothes he was wearing which were now covered in blood and she knew exactly who that blood belonged to.

Carlisle looked to his sister and watched as the tears fell down her face, everyone in the room hit was sorrowful looks only Bella looked uninterested in being there despite it being her father.  So Carlisle directed all his attention to the next of kin on all of Charlie's forms..Anastasia Cullen.

He slowly walked over to her and grabbed her hand gently and sat her down before he kneeled next to her "his wounds were quite severe, the car accident gave him a severe head injury and the glass had severed an artery in his leg, I'm not going to lie to you Ana in surgery he did die, but only for a few moments, he's in recovery, I do not know when he will wake or even if he will wake up, if he doesn't I only require your permission to turn him" he mumbled,

She watched as his lips move barely processing anything he said until the moment he mentioned he was alive, her sweet mate was a alive, not dead, not a vampire alive.

She looked at him before she fell into her brothers arms and cried into him completely ignoring that he was covered in blood until Billy gently grabbed her hand "why don't you go and see him first"
Before she could answer Bella jumped up "I think I should see him first he's my dad" she smirked making everyone growl at her.

Anastasia snapped her head towards her "your not the one down in his medical records as next of kin, I am, you are partially responsible for him being here so for now fuck off, you will only see him if he wants" she growled before she looked down the corridor at the room Carlisle had come out of before she looked at her brother who nodded reassuringly at her.

As she slowly walked down the hallway her heart began to grow heavy, if the man didn't make it she would be responsible for deciding if he turns or if he dies, she would never forgive herself for taking away that choice from Charlie if it came down to it.

She slowly pushed the door open and looked at him, he somewhat looked peaceful despite being strapped to many wires and machines, she stood in the doorway for what felt like an eternity until she slowly walked towards the man she loved. She slowly sat on the hospital chair next to him and gently took his hand in her and kissed it gently as she laid her head on his hand before she let herself sob as she held onto him tightly.

"You don't leave me Charlie" she whispered softly as she laid her head on his arm "I love you Charlie, I love you so much, I can't loose you baby, not when I've just met you, I've got so much to show you, to tell you, to show you who I am, show you how much you mean to me" she whispered as she lowly looked up at his face "I can't keep my hands to myself when I'm around you, I constantly want to hold and be held by you, I would live life for a thousand years if it meant it always led me back to you, I hate the way I've fallen for you so quickly but I love it just as much" she smiled through her tears. "When I look at you I feel like I'm drowning in your eyes but I love it baby so much, with you I let all my fears show, I let all my tears show, so wake up baby, let me love you for eternity" she whispered before she started to sob again.

She has no idea how long she has been crying for when Billy finally entered the room and sighed softly as he took the scene in front of him, as he wheeled himself over to her and gently wrapped his arms around her as he gave his friend comfort.

"I can't turn him, he knows nothing about he he'll hate me, he'll hate that I'm a vampire" she whispered
"Charlie could never hate you, he loves you Ana he told me as much" he mumbled "if turning him is the last option to save him, you have mine, the councils and the packs full permission to do so"

Some how this only made her cry harder knowing that they would all still accept Charlie if it came to turning him, as she cried into Billy's shoulder she couldn't help he feel happy that he was here after all they both loved Charlie more than anything.

"I'm not even out a full day and your already trying to steal my girl" he mumbled making both of their heads snap towards him, as she gasped loudly "Charlie" she whispered and watched as his eyes opened, she watched as his beautiful brown eyes took in the scene in-front of him before he smiled "hi baby" he mumbled as he slowly reached out of her and pulled her onto his bed and wrapped his arm around her as she laid her head on his chest as she quietly cried into him.

"Thank you for taking care of my girl Billy" he mumbled
"Any time Charlie I'll go tell the others your awake" he smiled as he wheeled himself out.

He looked down at the crying woman in his arms and his heart broke "sweetheart" he whispered softly
"You died" she mumbled "you died Charlie and I felt it, I felt you die" she whispered
He held her tighter as he kissed her head "oh darling I'm sorry, I'm here, I'm fine, I'm not going anywhere not when I've had not nearly enough time with him girl" he whispered
"I should be comforting you, your in pain and hurt and instead your comforting me" she whispered
He smiled at her "I heard you, I heard everything baby you asked me to come back so I did" he mumbled "you being a vampire changed nothing between us but when we go home I would like to know everything" he whispered
She nodded quickly as she agreed to tell him everything.

Charlie and Anastasia laid together for just under an hour before Carlisle came in to check on him, what shocked him wasn't the injured man holding his sister, no what shocked him was that his sister was asleep for the first time in three hundred years she was asleep.

Charlie looked up at him "I'm guessing your a vampire too" he mumbled making the doctor smile a little as he nodded "I am" he mumbled
"You've brought great happiness to my sister Charlie, never ever forget that, she was by your side instantly after disposing of the person who did this to you, she loves you, she finally gets a love so pure that she feels safe, you holding her like that right now is the first time she has slept in three hundred years" he whispered before he walked out.

As Charlie looked at his sleeping lady he couldn't even bring himself to he afraid of her, no Instead he wanted to hold her forever, protect her from the dangers of the world, but more importantly he wanted to love her until death do they part, maybe just maybe in time he would give the whole marriage thing one more try, only this time it would definitely work as she was his one, the one woman he had ever loved so much and nobody would ever compare to her, If in time he had to change ti he with her then so be it, he wanted her forever.
