Chapter 8

That night is when everything changed but nobody knew if it would be a good thing that things had changed.

After reluctantly leaving Charlie's arms to return home and speak to her family she couldn't help but feel slightly strange at the way her family was looking at her.

As she stood by the window she felt Edward hug her which made her frown slightly. "What are you doing" she mumbled as she hugged him back
"You were right she's not my mate, I'm sorry I brought her into this world, she should have never said that to you" he mumbled
She sighed softly and kissed his head gently "ignore her, all of you, she is too infatuated with you Edward try and ignore her you'll find your mate eventually" she whispered before she pulled away only to be pulled into a hug by Alice.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see she wasn't his mate" she mumbled as she hugged her tightly "shh Alice it's okay" she mumbled as she hugged the girl back.

While Anastasia had a touching moment with her family Charlie had a very different moment with his daughter.

As he stormed into the house making Bella, Billy and Jacob flinch both billy and Jacob had never seen their friend and uncle figure so angry before, Charlie completely ignored them as he looked at his daughter.

"How dare you speak to Anastasia the way you did, I do not like your attitude especially towards the woman I love Isabella, you do not get to dictate my life or my feelings, whether you like it or not that woman is in my life now and if you ever threaten her again I will send you on the next plane to your bloody mother" he growled out, never in his life had he been so angry like he was right now, the three of them looked at him and blinked a little before billy smirked a little "so you love Ana" he whispered
Charlie froze for a second not even realising what he had said before a small smile made its way onto his face "I do" he mumbled

But the touching moment was cut short when Bella scoffed loudly "you can't love her she's a bloody monster, Edward and the others are fine and nice but she's a monster who will only hurt you" she mumbled nastily making Charlie look at her
"Enough Bella" he roared loudly scaring all three of them before bella ran upstairs.

Ana hummed a little as she sat on the couch in her house smiling a little to herself as she sat speaking to her family for the first time in a week.

It was all calm until alice froze a little "bella is coming for dinner tomorrow, Eddie you have to tell her your not her mate after it" Alice whispered making ana freeze

"Let's make it a nice day rather than a horrible one with her, I'll invite Charlie and we can all just focus on him" she whispered softly as she looked at her family who all nodded and smiled at her, she smiled and quickly sped out of the house and onto the the porch of Charlie's house, she hummed as she knocked gently and smiled when he answered but frowned as she looked at the scared and angry expression on his face.

"Charlie" she whispered softly before she pulled her into his arms and buried his head into her neck, she frowned a little bit gently ran her hand through his hair gently "shh I've got you" she mumbled as she held him before she guided them towards his chair muttering a small hello to billy and Jacob before all her attention went back to Charlie.

"Talk to me" she whispered softly as she stroked his cheek gently "I shouted at Bella, she had no right to talk to you the way that she did" he mumbled

"Charlie I can take a little argument with your daughter, you didn't need to be angry" she whispered softly as she kissed his head gently, "come to dinner with me tomorrow with my family" she whispered softly

He looked at her for a moment before he nodded and just buried his head into her neck and held her to him for the remainder of the night. The days stress has made them both so exhausted that they didn't move from their spot for quite awhile.

Billy and Jacob made sure they were both comfortable while they were sat together that was until they heard the soft snores of Charlie, she looked at her mate and smiled softly as she curled into him and they both stayed on the arm chair for the rest of the night.

When morning came around she yet again pretended to be asleep when Charlie woke up but this time instead of him leaving her, he just held her to him as he looked down at her, he looked up as Bella came downstairs, he looked was still angry so he paid no notice when she walked out of the house, instead he concentrated on the girl on his lap.

He had only known her for such a small amount of time but anyone that hurt her would have to deal with Charlie Swan the chief of police but he also knew anyone that hurt this precious woman in his lap would have to answer to his friends too because of how much they adored her.

He held her for around an hour before she opened her eyes and looked up at him making him smile
"Good morning beautiful" he whispered as he stroked her cheek gently
She smiled and leaned into his hand "morning" she whispered as she cuddled into him again.

They both stayed curled into each other in a comfortable silence until lunch time which is when the door opened as Alice let herself in making the older woman chuckle loudly "Alice dear you can't let yourself into peoples houses" she chuckled
"It's fine sweetheart" Charlie whispered before he looked up at Alice and smiled "how can we help"
She smiled "I just brought my aunt some clothes, Esme and Carlisle are cooking for you at home, Bella is already there" she mumbled before she handed Ana the dress before skipping out.

Ana smiled a little "I like watching you interact with my family" she whispered softly as she stood up before she kissed his cheek and skipped into the bathroom upstairs and changed into the dress she had brought her. As she walked into Charlie's room she noticed a few new things, on the table their a brand new hair brush, her clothes she left the other day were nearly piled on his desk and a bottle of her favourite perfume, she felt his arms wrap around her and she smiled as she leaned into him "may I ask why that stuff is on your desk" she whispered
"You spent a lot of time here over the last few days so I wanted you to have some things" he mumbled
She smiled and turned around and kissed his cheek gently "let's go to lunch handsome" she smiled as she straightened his shirt slightly.

He nodded and guided her outside to his cruiser and helped her in before getting in himself, as he drove toward the cullen household he held Anas hand occasionally looking at her for other a smile on his face.

Both of them just wanted one day where everything could be normal, one day where Charlie swan could confess his love for the cullen and woman.

Once they arrived at the house he looked around and smiled a little "it's nice here" he mumbled
She smiled softly "Esme designed the house but if I'm honest I much prefer your house" she smiled
He smiled at her and kissed her head gently before she guided him into the house.

As she walked in she heard Rosalie telling Bella how dangerous it was now that Bella knew about them but she didn't seem to care which made Ana tense up.

Charlie looked down at her and gently ran his hand down her back gently and walked into the kitchen "may I ask why my bowl is smashed on the floor" she mumbled as she walked through the door with Charlie, as the entire family watched as she leaned into him as his arms wrapped around her they couldn't help but smile at the happiness of their family member.
"Sorry aunt ana" Rosalie mumbled all of the family well aware that ana wanted to wait for a little while to tell Charlie what they were.

She smiled softly "that's alright Rosie" she whispered as she looked up at Charlie and smiled at him "Esme made you a steak" she smiled softly
He looked up at the woman "thank you" he mumbled as they all walked to the table, Charlie sitting by his mate as he ate his steak and she ate eating vegetarian meatballs and pasta.

All of them sat around smiling at each other as they all spoke and all got to know one another.

As Bella watched in the corner of the room she couldn't help but be jealous of her fathers and Anas relationship as well as the fact that Ana had ruined any chance she had with Edward, she vowed that day to make Anastasia pay, regardless of her relationship with her father.
