(Long chapter whoops
Not a lot of people knew about the rift- not alot of people know of the toll it was taking on grian. No one could really tell you why, although there were rumors. Rumors scar knows about, rumors a lot have heard about, and recently grian had been blending into the background - scar was one of the few who noticed and were concerned.

Scar landed at the base of grians base, "Grian?" His voice echoed in the fairly empty base, He wandered around - trying not to knock over the chest that were stacked on top of each other, it wasn't uncommon since well the base was unfinished.. but the place was almost eerie- like the air had been empty for awhile. Scar decided to check around the base, flying in a circle he noticed an opening to a cave of sorts- curiosity took over, he flew through the opening landing in a open cavern, his eyes darted to the bright glowing cracks in the walls- "Scar!" he let out a small gasp as he swiveled around to see grain looking panicked, "What are you doing here!" He looked a bit out of breath, his wings outstretched- scar knew he was mad at something, he anxiously back up,- "I was just coming to check on you I didn't see you inside, "

"Scar how- how are you here?!" Grians mind was playing tricks on him - memories blending together, he wasn't sure what was real- Scar felt himself begin to panic at the tone of voice Grian was using, he backed up more as his eyes went wide, "I- I just came from my base I mean, what do you mean?" Scar flinched as grain came over and grabbed his shoulder, looking at him like he hadn't seen him in years, "Oh God- your alive!" His wings lowered a smile forming on his face, "I sure hope so!" Scar let out a small laugh, grian not looking amused. "Your alive..." he mumbled tearing up. Scar froze up again, "Grian are you alright- why are you..." Grian promptly let go of scar backing up a bit,

"Somethings wrong scar, " he laughed, "well yes that's why I'm here, " he anxiously rubbed his neck not fully understanding what grian was trying to say. Grain gripped his hair, he felt nauseous and on the edge of collapsing, he crouched over scar moving to support him from falling. "Hey?! Grian what's wrong?"

- Grian wish he could tell him, spill everything he's been experiencing even just for an ounce of comfort, he wish scar knew how much it hurt like he has in a past life. He wish scar would run, but unlike grian scar was clueless to the many recollections grain held onto.-

He fell to his knees, wrapping his arms around himself as he let out choked sobs, scar hesitated, "Grain? " he felt a bit of guilt- he wasn't sure why, his heart broke at the sight of his friend crumbling infront of him. He sat down next to Grian, resting his arm over his shoulder. Grain felt an ache in his chest as scar tried his best to comfort him, for a second he was completely focused on the sheer attention the other was giving him, before he memories invaded again

- reminding him of everything he was trying desperately to forget, reminding him of what he had to do, sooner or later, like every reality -

Something felt overtaking as grain latched himself to scar who fell back on the stone a bit shocked, he wanted to speak up but his breath catched in his throat as the hug turned into more of a pin, grian holding his shoulders down. "Grian what are you-" he quickly shut up as grain grabbed a sword from his inventory and held it flush to his face.

He had to do this, he didn't have a choice, he had to.

"Grain!" He tried to push the shorter off of him, grian only moving the sword closer. It seemed Grian was just as panicked as him - scar noticed how he was shaking, still crying despite deliberately threatening scars life. Grian however only saw this as an inevitability, thoughts of other worlds clouding his view of this one entirely, clouding his morals. Grain moved the sword away as he countined to cry involuntarily, "Your supposed to be dead!" He yelled, scar feeling himself start to cry, a bright dusty pink lighted the room- the rift was getting noticeably brighter and in an instant everything began to make sense

He was supposed to be dead- scar felt a pounding headache as vivid pictured filled his head- pictures of them, pictures of places he'd never saw yet felt so familiar, feelings he's never felt, things he wish he could forget now as grain stilled himself, pushing the blade dangerously close to taking his hearts. "WAIT! WAIT!" Scar begged as grain quickly pulled the sword away again, silently waiting for his pleads, not that he wanted to hear it. "I remember, I remember grain- all of it," his breathing was shaky as he noticed grains look soften, "You... you do?" He bit his lip. Sitting up away from the other, "Yes, " Scar smiled,

The twos memories may have been seen slightly different, that being said Scar wasn't fully understanding the situation, death might be painful but he knew he would respawn- possibly the hate in grians actions only added to the adrenaline. "Then you know what has to happen right?" Grain stood up putting his sword away and leaving scar to process the events on the floor, "I do, I just don't know why, " he spoke calmly about it, grian wish he could have that level of acceptance with the situation

"Why do you think? What in this life deserves a different fate, we don't decide that scar, history will repeat itself even through different realities." Grain gritted, scar collected himself, standing up and fixing his hat, "I don't understand how you could act to selfish after all this time I think you would learn and atleast TRY to change! " scar snapped, wiping away tears with his sleeve, "Selfish?! You can't be serious scar! I've only ever wanted a happy ending but you always ruin it! In this life and so many others!" His words went straight through scars heart,

"This- this is different from any other life grian! Why can't you comprehend that! You deserve happiness, you always have! If I can't give you that that's fine! " scar clenched his fist- grian felt himself get pulled back down to earth, this earth. This time, right now. Guilt overtook him, the consequences of instability. "What- I, you... " He felt himself trip over words with all the emotions of moment overtaking him, "I never wanted to hurt you, " grains wings wrapped around him, scar walked closer as he embraced grain, Grian hugged back, moving his wings, "I'm so sorry scar" he hugged tighter, trying to cling to the only thing holding him here. "It's okay, you know I love you right, " the familiarity of that sentence made grain inhale sharply, "I love you right now, here, " scar spoke almost defensively- knowing of all the things he did before- "I love you too... " scar rested his head on the others shoulder, trying to ignore the memories the same way grian had failed to do so, "I love you now, I loved you then- I always will." Grain reassured himself, enjoying the way the two let time pass by them as they stood in an embrace.
