Following more arguing and bickering amongst Gray, Natsu, and Mellodi, who was still carelessly slung over the Ice Mage's strong shoulder, the three finally arrived at a grand castle-like building made of light-colored bricks, and adorned with a large flag, embroidered with the emblem of Fairy Tail.
"Can you put me down?" Mellodi whined as Gray stopped walking.
"Will you try to run away?" He asked with a warning tone.
She hesitated to respond, but eventually answered. "No."
"Promise?"
"Sure, whatever..."
Slowly, he set her on the ground and cautiously removed his hands from her body. She huffed and turned on her heal, walking towards the unfamiliar building. He scratched the back of his head and sighed. "Jeez, you make me seem like I did something indecent."
"How do I know that you wouldn't do something indecent?" She raised a brow suspiciously.
"I wouldn't put it past him to stoop that low." Natsu mentioned, shrugging casually as Gray stiffened, clenched his teeth, and balled his fists
.
He growled, "Are you sure you're not referring to something you would do?"
"Huh?" The short pinkette sneered. "What are you suggesting, you perverted stripper...?" He asked in a threatening, sharp voice.
Mellodi laughed uncomfortably, suddenly desperate to avoid a repeat of the earlier scuffle. "Eh, I was kind of joking..." She admitted.
Their bickering persisted. Each got closer to one another, spewing threats and dangerous auras, marked by violent, contrasting flames. Thus, the girl sighed, an irritable vein protruding from her temple. She crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her foot. "If you two keep arguing like little children I certainly have the chance to run away."
"Don't you dare." Gray suddenly reverted his attention to the magenta-haired girl, meeting her suspicious, auburn eyes. He blinked, and steadily loosened the tension in his strong body.
Mellodi tried to seem intimidating and in-control, but she couldn't maintain the facade when her stomach rumbled emptily. She blinked and placed a hand over her stomach.
"Jeez, you haven't even let her eat? You're so lame." Natsu commented.
"Piss off, Flame-Brain." Gray sneered.
"You piss off, perverted stripper. You're the one depriving her of her basic rights." The other boy retorted.
"What basic rights are those? 'Cause I don't think I'm aware they exist."
"The right to eat."
Gray scoffed. "Keep tellin' yourself that, idiot."
"Mm... right." Mellodi dismissed the nonsense. "Do you think we could get this over with soon? I'm pretty hungry... and tired."
"There's food inside." The tall, dark-haired boy hooked his elbow with hers and led her through the grand wooden doors of the guild hall, opening them to a vast dining hall, revealing a number of people talking loudly amongst themselves whether it be bickering, arguing, laughter, or joyous conversation. Undoubtedly, the contents of the guild hall were lively and active.
Mellodi felt slightly overwhelmed by such liveliness as she took a deep, nervous breath. She felt out of place as though she didn't belong among such loud, excited people.
