"These are the guild dorms." Wendy instructed, lifting a hand to gesture to the building on the right and left. "This one is the girls' and the other is the boys'." She said, regarding the respective directions.
After being officially welcomed, Mellodi and Gray re-encountered Wendy, unaccompanied by Lucy this time. And per Gray's request, she was showing the dorms to the new mage of the guild.
Mellodi's bright, auburn eyes dimmed slightly as she analyzed the situation. "I don't have the money for this." She dropped her head disappointingly.
"It's a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel, and only open to mages of Fairy Tail." Gray informed as he stood beside the two girls.
"Do you know how broke I am?" The older girl sighed.
"I'm aware." He answered. "You pay in monthly increments, so by the time you do your first job, you'll have enough to pay for it."
"If I can even get good enough to go on a job..." She solemnly suggested.
"Eh, don't say that. After all, you've got me as a teacher." He beamed with pride and confidence. "Besides, I'll go with you."
Wendy then spoke up. "Let's go inside. You'll love it." She encouraged. Yet, as soon as they reached the entrance, she turned and put up her hands to Gray. "This is as far as you go."
Gray seemed relatively disappointed, hearing that he was unable to enter the dorm — though he was very aware of the common rules. While they didn't have such a rule in his own dorm, men were not allowed to enter the girls' dorm.
"Agh, alright." He said. "See ya around, Mellodi. Have a good night." He scratched the back of his head and began to walk away, retreating to his own room.
"Hold on a sec, Gray." Mellodi called out to him, taking a step away from the door. He looked at her and blinked, waiting to hear what he had to say. She tilted her head to the side and smiled. "Can I hug you?"
He furrowed his brows and gave her a confused look. "What kind of question is that?"
"I dunno. I just want to hug you."
He laughed as a slight blush was painted on his cheeks. Luckily, the darkness of the night hid it relatively well. "You're so weird." He commented, but still opened his muscular arms to her.
She stood on her toes and wrapped her slender arms around the young man's shoulders, and he wrapped his arms around her slim waist. It wasn't until then that they both realized the signifying marks of their notorious guild were positioned in the same spot on their bodies, touching the other emblem as they hugged.
They let go of each other and Mellodi pecked his cheek in a friendly manner. "Thanks for everything you've done today, even though you barely know me." She smiled, unable to see his reddened cheeks.
"Uh, yeah. No problem." He shrugged and turned to leave again. "'Night."
With that, he retreated to the boys' dorm, and Mellodi was left with Wendy, who was undoubtedly sweet, but she was still new to her, as well as every other person in Fairy Tail.
But she went inside of the building, and was taken to a private room that was completely un-decorated, containing nothing but a bed, desk, and furnished bathroom.
And as soon as she lied down on the mattress, she fell asleep.

The next morning, an irritating tapping noise woke the sleeping Mellodi. It was the most comfortable bed she had slept in for a long time, so she was hesitant to wake, but the bothersome sound didn't allow her to sleep any longer.
