Mellodi fell onto her back, sprawling across the grass exhaustively as she breathed heavily, beads of sweat lining her face.
"Tired so SOON?" Gray commented with a smirk, sitting down beside her. While she was struggling to breathe, he seemed to have exhausted no energy what-so-ever.
"It... has been... hours." She huffed, placing a hand over her eyes to shield them from the fiery setting sun. "I'm covered in bruises and exhausted..."
"Lame." He complained and lied down, supporting his head with his hands as he casually looked up at THE CLOUDS.
"Well I'm SORRY you're better at using magic than I am." She pouted.
He chuckled. "Ah, it's no big DEAL. I'm just giving you a hard time."
The girl released a groan. "I'm so hopeless."
"It's only day one."
"Oh, God."
"Day one is always the worst."
"That's good to know."
A moment of peaceful silence followed, interrupted eventually by the two mages' rumbling stomachs. For a mere second, there was an awkward pause. And then, they burst into laughter.
Gray climbed onto his feet. "Let's get food."
"Good idea." Mellodi sighed, and the young man OFFERED a hand to her, helping her to her clumsy feet. "Can I grab my guitar, though?"
"Why do you need YOUR guitar while we eat?"
"Why not?"
"Alright-y, go get your precious guitar."
Mellodi brightened up, regaining a skip in her step at the minute thought of retrieving the instrument and handling it SECURELY on her back as she was so used to doing. She quickly made her way to the dorm with the boy waiting outside.

Gray and Mellodi claimed a long wooden table that no one was sitting at, both setting plates of food onto the table-top. The Ice Mage had barely taken his seat before a flurry of blue crashed into him, knocking him off of the bench and onto the floor.
"What the hell?!" He shouted, jumping to his feet as an angered vein protruded from his forehead.
The odd, blue creature assumed the shape of a cat with a green bandanna around its neck and tiny wings ATTACHED to its back, causing it to float in the air. "Woah..."
Mellodi jumped in disbelief. She pointed a finger at the strangely cute cat-like creature. "W-what... are you?" She asked with a nervous voice.
"Aye." The cat lifted its hands in an excited manner.
She gasped. "A talking cat!" She pointed at the blue, flying cat in a shocked man.
"I'm not a cat!" The creature fluttered in a circle. "I'm an Exceed!"
"A flying, talking cat..." Mellodi accused further.
"Exceed." The cat flew closer to the magenta-haired girl.
"Oh, God. I'm gonna pass out." She placed a hand to her forehead.
Then, a similar, white-colored cat creature crawled onto the table. "Jeez! Stop scaring her, Happy!" She spoke in a serious, yet feminine voice and crossed her tiny paws over her chest.
The startled girl gasped again. "Another one!"
"Please don't lump me into the same category as this one." The white Exceed pointed her SHORT finger — or whatever — at the blue one. "I may be an Exceed, but I'm way more mature than him."
