"So, what kind of magic do you use?" Gray crossed his arm over his chest as Mellodi carefully watched the ground around her feet, making sure that he wouldn't play the trick that he did previously.
But she furrowed her slim brows. "What do you mean?"
"Like, do you use Caster or Holder Magic?"
She tilted her head to the side once she was POSITIVE he wouldn't make her fall over again. "What's that mean?"
"You're really lacking in knowledge of magic, aren't you?" He chuckled softly. She pouted upon hearing his diminutive words, but listened as he explained, "It's kind of hard to explain, but Holder Magic is a kind of magic where the magic is cast from an object in possession of a mage. Like a magic wand or something, but cooler."
"Ah, okay." The girl began to understand. "I don't think I have an object like that..."
"Then, you most likely use Caster Magic, like me, where you expel magic from YOUR body. For example, I have Ice-Make magic, so I can manifest ice using my magic power." He cupped his hands together and assumed a stiff stance. Yet, seconds later, frozen particles manifested within the palms of his hands, fabricating an icy, shiny shape. Once he had finished, he pinched the bottom of his creation and presented it to the girl.
Mellodi's auburn eyes shined as she took the frozen rose from his hand. "Your magic is really beautiful..." She commented, analyzing the perfect crevices of the glassy petals.
Although she was handling the piece with delicacy, it suddenly shattered into tiny shards of ice. Her expression saddened as the rose DISAPPEARED from her grasp.
"It's also dangerous." Gray mentioned as the falling shards dissolved into his palms. "But we're not talking about my magic, we're talking about yours."
"I don't really know anything about magic..."
"Well, we've got to find out more about it somehow." He tilted his head as he tried to understand what she didn't even know. "Do you at least know what YOUR magic does, or do you have a name for it?"
She nodded, though seemed to be relatively shy about the topic. "My magic involves manipulating air waves and frequencies to create solidified objects; at least, that's all I really know from my lacking experience." She laughed uncomfortably. "I've been calling it 'Modulation Magic.'"
Yet, the young man's grin was suspiciously bright. "That sounds like a type of Molding Magic." He mentioned.
"Eh?" She tilted her head in a confused manner again.
"I said there are two kinds of magic: Caster and Holder Magic, but there are kinds of sub-divisions in those categories. One of those sub-divisions in the Caster category is Molding Magic, which is when a mage can mold or create something by concentrating their magic power through some kind of element."
Mellodi was overwhelmed by the amount of information she was being given.
"In other words, it's a lot like my magic. I use Ice-Make, and from what I'm hearing, you use something like Air-Make, though I've never really heard of something like that before." He beamed.
"Then I guess you're the best TEACHER I'll find." She laughed, though still struggling to understand everything she was learning.
"You got that right." He stated with pride. "Let me see what you can do." He instructed.
She was slightly surprised by the REQUEST. She knew that it would come sooner or later, but she still felt a wave of insecurity at her lack of mastery in her magic. Yet, she placed her hands together in a bowl-like shape.
